Maxi has his own battle, as someone diagnosed with a complex congenital heart disease, Single lung, underwent 2 Open Heart Surgeries, Cerebral Palsy, a stroke survivor and Global Developmental Delay. Purpose of the Glenn Shunt for Maxi's case: 1. Improve oxygenation 2. Reduce volume load on the heart 3. Preparation for 3rd Open Heart Surgery (Fontan) Despite the pain, look how joyful he is. Thank You Lord for sustaining my son ❤️🙏🏻

November is , and we are so grateful for the advocacy and stories of resiliency being shared by so many of you! We wanted to make sure to share this reminder because we know how sneaky intrusive thoughts can be. And if you hear one thing this month? We hope you hear that NICU mama, your child’s early delivery was not your fault. 💕

We know the ache that sits deep within you as you are left with more questions than answers. Was it my diet? Did I sleep on the wrong side? Was I too stressed? What if I would have exercised more? Did more yoga? Didn’t work so much? Didn’t go on that trip?

We know how natural it feels to blame yourself for your child’s NICU stay and how taxing it can feel to wrestle with the “whys” and the “what ifs”. We also know the grief that often comes when the answers simply aren’t there. But as you heal and grow, we hope you see your strength and feel immense amounts of pride.

Mama you are not to blame, you are to be commended. Because while your baby’s need for care in the NICU may have been out of your control, you took control of what you could and you showed up. You loved hard. You woke up day after day and faced the uncertainty that lied within those NICU doors with your mama heart on your sleeve. We are so proud of you. 💕

So whenever you need to be reminded, your sisters will proudly say that mama, your child’s early delivery was not your fault.💕
