If you’ve been wondering whether or not you should forgive someone who hurt you… this is the sign you’ve been waiting for!!!
We know that hearing “I’m sorry” from the person who hurt you feels really good and it makes it much easier to forgive that person. But what if they never apologize? And waiting on them to apologize will only make you unhappy. Don’t carry that hurt in your heart forever!
Remember: Jesus did not wait for an apology from us before dying for our sins on the Cross. It says in Romans 5:8 (NIV) that “…while we were still sinners, Christ died for us”.
Jesus died for you and for that person too. He forgave both of you, even if both of you did not apologize. Jesus has modeled how we should treat each other. So let go of that hurt and choose to forgive, even without an apology.
