Case: An 83-year-old male, non-smoker, presented with sudden onset of severe shortness of breath and chest pain. He was initially managed as a pulmonary case, but despite treatment, his condition continued to worsen. Further evaluation and repeat testing eventually revealed an acute myocardial infarction.
An emergency coronary angioplasty of the LAD was successfully performed, resulting in rapid clinical improvement. The patient recovered well and was eventually discharged in stable condition.
Early recognition and timely intervention remain crucial in saving lives during cardiac emergencies.
