Myomas (fibroids) can affect women at different stages of life.
I have treated patients across a wide age range:
A woman in her mid-20s had no symptoms, and a 13 cm myoma was found incidentally.
A woman in her 40s noticed her abdomen slowly enlarging and thought it was weight gain, but it turned out to be a 12 cm myoma.
A menopausal woman presented with an abdominal size similar to a full-term pregnancy, caused by a 20 cm myoma.
These cases remind us that myomas are not limited to one age group. Women who are still menstruating—and even those who are menopausal—can develop fibroids. Regular check-ups and paying attention to body changes are important. Doc Myles Cajara
