AGRI PARTY-LIST FILES MEASURE TO END HUNGER AND SEVERE MALNUTRITION IN THE COUNTRY

Quezon City - AGRI Party-list Representative Wilbert Lee files a measure to expand the powers and functions of the National Nutrition Council NNC into a Commission to strengthen its mandate to address the country's long standing problem of malnutrition.

Cong. Wilbert Lee said since its creation in 1979 NNC has remained as a small agency which cannot efficiently directly address the widespread hunger and severe malnutrition in the country.

According to Lee the government needs to scale up its workforce and resources to combat hunger and severe malnutrition as the country is facing a high prevalence of wasting, stunting, micro-nutrient deficiencies and overweight among children and women resulting in prevailing illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension and child stunting among others said the solon from Sorsogon.

Under Agri's House Bill No. 7586 or the "Nutrition Act of 2023" a 10 year Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition shall be developed by the Commission in coordination with relevant government agencies and non-governmental organizations.

If this measure is passed into law the State shall provide the initial amount necessary for the organization and operational requirements of this Act. :agri partylist

ALBAY GOVERNOR URGES LGU'S TO ALLOCATE FUNDS FOR ADDITIONAL BENEFITS OF BARANGAY TANODS

Tabaco City - They risk their lives yet receive less, tanods of the 720 barangays of Albay deserve to be compensated for their dedication and sacrifices for the safety of the constituents said Governor Edcel "Grex" Lagman on the occasion of the 2nd year anniversary of Tabaco Barangay Public Safety Organization Inc..

Lagman mentioned Tabaco City government as an example for allocating P1,000 monthly for each tanod as additional honorarium on top of what is given by their respective barangays.

The governor said tanods are risking their lives for the safety of the community and deserve to be compensated for their hard work and dedication to public service.

Bulan, Sorsogon - Mayor Romeo 'MEO' Gordola 's brainchild the Botika ng Bayan have already served a not less than 50k needy patients for the past one year of operation.

Providing medicine to Bulaneños, Botika ng Bayan becomes the last recourse of poor patients needing immediate medical remedy as it offers medicine for free.

On a daily basis a not less than 100 patients avail of its services of free medicines and often times in long queue.

LEGAZPI IS A RED TAPE FREE CITY - Office of the President

Legazpi City - Its the Office of the President of the Philippines that confirms Legazpi is rated Compliant and Very Good in the recently concluded Compliance Monitoring and Evaluation on the Anti-Red Tape by Anti - Red Tape Authority ARTA under the office of the President.

This goes to show that public service in all offices under the city government are fairly delivered with respect to the citizen's charter and all other pertaining rules in the delivery of services.

LEGAZPI KADIWA AGRI FOOD TERMINAL GROSSES P233K FOR THE FIRST TWO WEEKENDS

Legazpi City - Establishing Legazpi Food Terminal by AGRI Party-list have served its purpose of providing fresh agricultural products at a lower price and on the other hand giving income to farmers by directly selling their produce thus eliminating the role of middleman.

On the first two weekends March 18 & 19 and March 25 & 26 Legazpi Agri Food Terminal had a total gross sales of P232,995.15. A good start that means both the farmers and the consumers have heed to the call of AGRI Partylist Representative Wilbert Lee to join the kadiwa system of direct farm produce selling which both benefits the producers and the end users.

According to Carlito Ramirez of Sunrise Integrated Farm Legazpi Agri Food Terminal will soon be upgrading its display center to provide more variety of farm produce like fresh fish and meat products and also some by-products.

TABACO CITY HONORS BARANGAY TANODS, HOSTS A CELEBRATION

Tabaco, City - They are our village police, rescuers and fire fighters who risk lives yet get less for themselves even in recognition.

The city government of Tabaco under the leadership of Mayor Krisel Lagman had a good grasp to honor and recognize the not less than 1,000 tanods of all barangays as they celebrated Barangay Public Safety Officers' Day on Tuesday March 28, 2023.

Aside from the celebration and recognition given by the city government the provincial government also gave uniforms for all the barangay tanods of Tabaco City.

Even on a busy day for Governor Edcel "Grex" Lagman he visited the celebration and honors the not less than 1k tanods of his presence and giving them uniforms to show his utmost concern for the volunteerism being rendered by these tanods to the communities they serve.

Bulan, Sorsogon - These hard times, why buy branded and costly cakes when your wife or neighbor can bake you one.

On Tuesday March 28, 2023 eleven housewives and small entrepreneurs from different barangays of Bulan graduated from a 2 day skills training on flour based food processing held in PESO Best Hub Building in Bgy.Aquino.

Through the help of the DTI Negosyo Center Bulan and PESO Bulan the participants were able to learn the rudiments of baking cakes and pastries.
