In line with the escalation of Mayon Volcano to Alert Level 3, the National Immunization Program (NIP) of Albay, through its NIP Coordinators, conducted intensified routine and catch-up immunization activities for all life stages in the evacuation centers of the affected LGUs, namely Tabaco City, Ligao City, and Camalig.

Routine vaccines for children, as well as tetanus-diphtheria (Td) vaccination for pregnant women, were administered to all eligible populations to ensure continued protection against vaccine-preventable diseases amid the ongoing emergency situation.

𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 || The Provincial Health Office conducted Rapid Health Assessment in evacuation centers within the Second and Third Districts to address the needs of communities affected by the current alert status of Mayon Volcano. The activity aimed to assess the overall condition of the evacuation centers and identify the immediate health concerns and essential needs of displaced populations from the affected barangays.

The assessment covered the following evacuation centers and affected barangays:
•Bariw Evacuation Center, Camalig – Affected Barangay: Brgy. Quirangay
•Tagaytay Evacuation Center, Camalig – Affected Barangay: Brgy. Anoling
•Baligang Elementary School Evacuation Center – Affected Barangay: Brgy. Baligang

• Inspection of breastfeeding rooms/corners, posting of advocacy and information materials on EO 51 (Philippine Milk Code), and distribution of various nutrition IEC materials.

𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬 | 𝗖𝗢𝗗𝗘 𝗪𝗛𝗜𝗧𝗘 𝗔𝗟𝗘𝗥𝗧

In line with DOH Regional Memorandum No. 20260012, the Provincial Health Office of Albay has officially raised CODE WHITE ALERT effective January 14, 2026, in relation to Tropical Depression ADA.

All Rural and City Health Units, hospitals, and local DRRM-H managers are advised to activate preparedness, response, surge capacity, and contingency plans, ensure close monitoring of evacuees, and submit timely reports, including zero case reports.

Let us remain vigilant and coordinated to ensure the safety and health of all Albayanos.

Ipinapaalala ng DOH Bicol na bigyang halaga ang pagpapasuso sa iyong sanggol tuwing may kalamidad dahil ito ang pinakaligtas at praktikal na paraan ng pagpapakain sa sanggol.

Narito ang mga mahalagang paalala at hakbang:

𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 || The Provincial Health Office conducted Rapid Health Assessment in evacuation centers within the First District to address the needs of communities affected by the current alert status of Mayon Volcano. The activity aimed to assess the overall condition of the evacuation centers and identify the immediate health concerns and essential needs of displaced populations from the affected barangays.

The assessment covered the following evacuation centers and affected barangays:

• San Jose Elementary School Evacuation Center, Malilipot – Affected Barangays: Calbayog and San Roque
• San Jose National High School Evacuation Center, Malilipot – Affected Barangay: Calbayog
• Mariroc Evacuation Center (Covered Court), Tabaco City – Affected Barangay: Sitio Nagsipit, Barangay Mariroc
• San Antonio Evacuation Center, Tabaco City – Affected Barangay: Oson
• Buhian Evacuation Center, Tabaco City – Affected Barangay: Buhian
• Buang Evacuation Center, Tabaco City – Affected Barangay: Part of Purok 1, Barangay Buang

The rapid health assessments will serve as basis for appropriate health interventions and the provision of essential services to ensure the safety and well-being of families displaced from the affected barangays.

𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 || In line with the current Mayon Volcano Alert Level, a coordination meeting was conducted between the WASH Team, PDOHO–Albay, and DOH–Bicol CHD to assess the WASH status of evacuation centers and discuss planned interventions to ensure safe water, sanitation, and hygiene services for displaced families.

The meeting brought together representatives from the Environmental Sanitation Division and the DRRM–H Team of the Provincial Health Office, among the key officials from DOH–Bicol CHD were Dr. Aurora Teresa M. Daluro, Head of the Public Health Preparedness and Response Unit; Mr. Bhernard Mongo, Nurse V, Public Health Preparedness and Response Unit; and Engr. Lea Angela Castillo, Program Manager, Environmental Health Program, while from PDOHO–Albay were Dr. Joseph Richard Garay, DMO V, and Mr. Kenn Nuyda, DMO IV.
