Every story has a beginning, every sentence starts with a few words and big things always start from small things and that is how ACE Medical Center, Legazpi came into being. It all started with a casual conversation of two friends, Dr. Arbel Perete and Dr. Roxas “Bobet” Lee-Llacer, who expressed to each other their desired dream of putting up a hospi

tal managed by doctors of their generation. In August 2015, the two had a transcending conversation with other colleagues over bottle of beers, realizing that they all have the same aspiration—to build a hospital. What seem to be an idea, merely a dream, was slowing transforming into a reality. In 2014, Typhoon Yolanda hit Eastern Visayas, causing devastation in the province of Tacloban City. Medical Missions abound in the area to help fellow Filipinos badly stricken by the typhoon. PCP Bicol were among those who heeded the call. 💢 SCAM ALERT💢

We are alerting the public about an ongoing scam involving the unauthorized use of the names Dr. Matthew Carion-Sy, Carlos Sy, Dr. Ronnel Batang and John Ray Diaz who have no affiliation whatsoever with ACE Medical Center – Legazpi Inc.

From July 7 to 13, several individuals and businesses have been contacted via a Viber account using the name "Procurement", falsely claiming to represent our hospital for a supposed event.

The scammers have:
Requested payments for gate passes
Inquired about catering services
Contacted DJs and event suppliers
Attempted to order office tables and chairs

🔔 Important Notice:

ACE Medical Center - Legazpi Inc. has not scheduled any such event.

Dr. Matthew Carion-Sy, Carlos Sy, and Dr. Ronnel Batang are not affiliated with our hospital in any capacity.

We do not have any professional or institutional connection to them.

Gate passes issued by our hospital are always FREE, provided they are approved by our Hospital Administrator or designated officer.

This scam is a fraudulent attempt to deceive and exploit service providers.

🔒 What you should do:

Do NOT engage with the Viber account named "Procurement" or any suspicious contact.

Do NOT share personal, financial, or business information.

Report any similar incident immediately to local authorities.

ACE Medical Center - Legazpi Inc., in support of the Legazpi City Health Office, successfully hosted a public health event titled “National Kidney Disease Prevention” last June 26, 2025.

This community-focused initiative aimed to raise awareness and promote the prevention of kidney-related diseases. The event featured educational sessions, free consultations, and health screenings — all designed to empower individuals with essential knowledge for better kidney health.

A key highlight of the event was the presence of Dr. Maria Lorna Y. Wong, MD, MMHoA, FP*P, FPSN, Medical Director of ACE Medical Center–Legazpi Inc., who served as the special guest and speaker. ACE Medical Center - Legazpi Inc. in collaboration with Top Best Security Agency Inc., successfully conducted a comprehensive Marksmanship Training at the BGCI Firing Range in Padang, Legazpi City.

This training forms part of the continuing education and certification program for security personnel and covered the following core components:

Firearm Safety Rules: Emphasis was placed on the Four Cardinal Rules of Gun Safety to promote responsible and secure firearm use.

Firearm Handling: Participants practiced and were evaluated on proper grip, stance, aiming, and trigger control.

Maintenance Skills: Training included the disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of standard-issue fi****ms, such as the Model 1911 pistol.

Range Safety Protocols: Pre-live fire briefings were conducted to ensure strict compliance with range safety procedures.

Live Fire Exercises: Security guards performed shooting drills using 9mm pistols, with scores based on accuracy and technique.

As part of the program, Security Guard Jayke P. Borsigue was recognized for his exemplary performance, particularly in upholding the safety and security of ACE Medical Center.
