This Women's Month give yourself the gift of protection against HPV by getting vaccinated.
Book a consultation and talk to a friendly OB-GYNE at our clinic.

The HPV vaccine is highly effective.

It can prevent 9 in 10 cases of the most high-risk strains of human papillomavirus (HPV) – the #1 cause of cervical cancer.

✂️Episiotomy✂️
An episiotomy is a surgical incision made in the perineum during childbirth to widen the vaginal opening.
The perineum is the tissue between the a**s and the vaginal opening.
👉Why is it performed?
To prevent tearing
To facilitate delivery
To speed up delivery when the baby's head is on the perineum
To reduce the risk of fetal damage in preterm labor or breech delivery
👉How is it performed?
A clinician uses scissors or a scalpel to make a single, deep cut during a contraction
The incision is made during the crowning of the fetal head
The baby is delivered through the enlarged opening
The placenta is delivered
The cut is stitched closed
👉Types of episiotomies
📌Midline
A vertical incision that is easier to repair but has a higher risk of extending into the a**l area
📌Mediolateral
An incision made at an angle that offers better protection from an extended tear but is more difficult to repair and often more painful
👉Complications
Pain
Infection
Hematoma
Scarring
Dehiscence, which is when the episiotomy repair breaks down.
