Ob-Gyn: By appointment only every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Pedia: By appointment only every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10:30 am - 2:30 pm.

Scientists have discovered a rare plant called Rinorea niccolifera, found only on Luzon Island in the Philippines, that can absorb and store extremely high levels of heavy metals in its leaves. This makes it a hyperaccumulator, a rare type of plant capable of thriving in metal-rich soils without suffering toxic effects. By drawing heavy metals out of the ground, this plant offers a natural and sustainable method for detoxifying polluted soils, particularly in areas impacted by mining.

According to UPLB, this makes it incredibly useful for phytoremediation, a method of cleaning polluted land by using plants. Instead of relying on expensive or invasive techniques, this plant can help remove harmful metals from contaminated soil in a natural and sustainable way.
