PRC ADVISORY: EXTREME HEAT ALERT
The Philippine Red Cross Operations Center, citing the latest forecast from DOST-PAGASA, warns the public of dangerously high heat indices across the country today, April 10, 2026.
With temperatures soaring up to 42°C in several regions, the risk of heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke is significantly elevated. We urge everyone to take immediate precautions to stay safe and hydrated.

• Zamboanga City, Zamboanga Del Sur
• Cotabato City, Maguindanao
• Dumangas, Iloilo
• Catarman, Northern Samar
OTHER CRITICAL AREAS (39°C - 41°C)
• Butuan City: 41°C
• Dagupan, Tuguegarao, Tanauan, San Jose, Iloilo City, Catbalogan, Borongan: 40°C
• Laoag, Aparri, Aurora, Olongapo, Bulacan, Tarlac, Leyte: 39°C
• Metro Manila: 37-38°C
RED CROSS SAFETY GUIDELINES
Hydrate Constantly: Drink plenty of water even if you do not feel thirsty. Avoid caffeine or alcohol, as these can dehydrate you further.
Limit Exposure: Stay indoors between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, when the sun's rays are strongest.
Dress Appropriately: Wear lightweight, light-colored, and loose-fitting clothing.
Know the Signs: Watch out for dizziness, excessive sweating, rapid pulse, and nausea.
Emergency Action: If someone shows signs of heat stroke, move them to a cool area, apply cold water to the skin, and call the Red Cross Hotline 143 immediately.
