PSU Medical and Dental Unit supports wellness activity, with Free Blood Sugar Testing and Oral Hygiene for PSU non-teaching employees.
The Pangasinan State University (PSU) Medical and Dental Unit, under the dedicated leadership of Dr. Christia Marie P. Flores, Head of Medical and Dental Services, actively supported the PSU-NTEA (Pangasinan State University - Non-Teaching Employees Association) wellness program by providing free random blood sugar testing and distributing complimentary toothbrushes. This initiative underscores PSU's commitment to promoting holistic health and well-being among its non-teaching personnel.
The wellness program, a vital component of PSU's broader health advocacy, aims to empower employees with knowledge and tools for proactive health management. The inclusion of free random blood sugar testing is particularly significant, offering participants a quick and accessible way to monitor their glucose levels. This early screening can be crucial in identifying potential risks for diabetes or in helping individuals with pre-existing conditions manage their health more effectively.
In addition to the blood sugar screening, the distribution of free toothbrushes initiated by the University Dentist, Dr. Cristina U. Manansala, highlighted the unit's emphasis on oral hygiene as an integral part of overall health. Good oral health is often linked to systemic health, and this simple yet impactful gesture by Dr. Flores and her team promoted better daily practices among the non-teaching staff.
PSU-NTEA wellness program reflects a proactive approach to preventive healthcare and a dedication to fostering a healthier campus environment.
This collaborative effort between the PSU Medical and Dental Unit and PSU-NTEA serves as a testament to the university's commitment to its employees' well-being, recognizing that a healthy workforce is essential for a thriving academic institution.
