When it was established in 1970, the hospital was known as San Antonio Maternity and Medical Hospital, because of its basic health care provided by the first US trained Obstetrician – Gynecologist, Frances N. Reyes and Internist-Cardiologist, Cesar A. The hospital kept on improving, in the late 1980’s, it became San Antonio General Hospital, a secondary hospital which can support licensed physicia

ns in pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, general surgery and other supporting medical services. From humble beginnings (primary – secondary – tertiary) it became San Antonio Medical Center of Lipa, Inc. As a tertiary medical center, it offers a full complement of medical specialty services and facilities. In addition to these medical specialty services and facilities, the hospital offers specific sub-specialty care such as Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI). New facilities include the Fertility Center and Gynecologic-Minimally Invasive Surgery Center doing laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. Presently, there are a lot of other healthcare providers in Batangas province. What sets San Antonio Medical Center of Lipa, Inc. apart from others aside from its services and facilities is its social responsibility to the people. The priority of our institution is its commitment to care for the lives of people through affordable and compassionate healthcare for all. The owners order the use of hospital facilities and equipment judiciously and do not only consider profit. The hospital has reasonable rates and its doctors charge reasonable professional fees. With regards to corporate social responsibility, we have incorporated a foundation named San Antonio Medical Center Foundation, Inc. the purpose of which are:
To develop programs that attract the support of corporations, foundations and organizations and that encourage individuals to contribute philanthropic funds to the hospital throughout their lives. To raise funds and awareness for projects and services that maintain and improve quality patient care at San Antonio Medical Center of Lipa, Inc. and its affiliates. To raise and steward funds for the advancement of healthcare in San Antonio Medical Center of Lipa, Inc. In this regard, San Antonio Medical Center of Lipa, Inc. would like to provide the people of Batangas, pioneering and innovative services and facilities at affordable rates. is moving towards ISO 9001:2008 and hopefully within the year, we will be the first hospital in Batangas which will be ISO certified.

A Eucharistic Mass was held at San Antonio Medical Center of Lipa, Inc. Convention Hall yesterday June 17, 2025 in commemorating our founder's birth anniversary Dr. Cesar A. Reyes Sr. It was a very momentous event in thanksgiving and prayers for Dr. CAR's legacy. Flowers and candles were also offered to him on his resting place after the Eucharistic celebration.

Last May 29, 2025 a Cervical Cancer Awareness Campaign seminar was held at FABSLAI - Lipa City attended by its employees and officers. This event was organized by the Marketing Team of San Antonio Medical Center of Lipa, Inc. together with Dr. Emma R. Caringal, their Medical Director and as the distinguished guest speaker. The objective is to raise awareness among participants to understand about cervical cancer, including risk factors, symptoms and treatment options. Another objective is to provide educational knowledge about cancer awareness, prevention, early detection, and screening options. The seminar was a successful and leaves attendees with valuable takeaways and a source of knowledge about Cervical Cancer. It was also fun, energetic, inspiring and educational.
