PAF NEWS | NATIONWIDE TRUST VALIDATES PAF COMMITMENT TO MISSION READINESS AND GOOD GOVERNANCE

The Philippine Air Force (PAF) continues to earn strong public confidence, culminating in 76% net trust and 74% net satisfaction in the 4th Quarter 2025 Tugon ng Masa survey conducted by OCTAResearch, the highest ratings in PAF history. This milestone caps a steady upward trajectory: 58% approval and 41% trust in 2021, improving to 65% approval and 54% trust in 2023 as recorded by Publicus Asia Inc., and rising further to 73% trust and 71% satisfaction in 4th Quarter 2024, before reaching record highs in 2025.

The results underscore the PAF’s transformation into a mission-oriented, capability-driven, and values-based organization anchored on good governance and sustained reforms. Through fast, efficient, and integrated operations and logistics, the PAF continues to strengthen mission readiness and deliver reliable airpower across its core mandates.

The Philippine Air Force extends its deepest gratitude to the Armed Forces of the Philippines leadership for strategic guidance, honors its men and women for their professionalism and selfless service, and appreciates partners and stakeholders for their continued trust. These record-high ratings reaffirm the PAF’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and excellence, and its resolve to further enhance capabilities, optimize logistics, strengthen governance, and faithfully serve the nation.

‘IT IS NOT A WEAKNESS AND IT IS NOT A LACK OF FAITH'

Cebu Archbishop Alberto Uy reminded the faithful that “depression is real” and can affect anyone, including members of the clergy, during a heartfelt homily in the funeral Mass of Fr. Decoroso “Cocoi” Olmilla at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral on Tuesday.

“Today, we are reminded that priests are also human. Sometimes we forget this. We expect priests to be strong, steady, joyful, and available at all times. But the priests carry the same human frailty as everyone. Like all of us, priests can cry in silence, struggle with anxieties, and carry burdens they often cannot speak about… We entrust Fr. Cocoi to that mercy, not because we understand everything, but because we believe in a God who understands Him completely,” he said.

The archbishop also urged the public to address mental health issues seriously, calling the incident a “wake-up call” to care for one another, listen more attentively, and recognize the hidden struggles many carry behind a smile.

LOOK | COMMANDER AIBDC GUIDES ITS PERSONNEL ON MENTAL HEALTH STANDDOWN

On 17 November 2025, the Air Installation and Base Development Command (AIBDC), under the leadership of Major General Antonio Z Francisco Jr PAF, conducted a command-wide Mental Health Standdown aimed at strengthening the overall readiness and well-being of its personnel.

Recognizing that a resilient force is built not only on skills and capabilities but also on a strong and healthy mind, the Commander personally reached out to AIBDC personnel across the country to emphasize the importance of mental health awareness.

MGen Francisco highlighted that mental health is a shared responsibility—one that requires unity, openness, and genuine concern for one another. He stressed that the Command must continue nurturing a culture where asking for help is encouraged, and where every Airman feels safe, supported, and valued.

In his message, the Commander encouraged everyone to “ACT” in the fight against mental health challenges:
A – Ask. Regularly check on the well-being of colleagues and subordinates. A simple question or conversation may be the lifeline someone needs.
C – Care. Listen without judgment, show empathy, and offer reassurance. Genuine concern can create a safe space where people feel understood and accepted.
T – Tell. Seek help when needed. Utilize the buddy system, mentorship, or reach out to immediate family members and mental health professionals for support.
