Looc, Romblon — Matapos ang matagal na panahong pagdaan sa mas mataas na antas ng pasilidad bago makapagpasa ng referral, isang makasaysayang pangyayari ang naitala ng Don Modesto Formilleza Sr. Memorial Hospital (DMFSMH) matapos maisagawa ang kauna-unahang direct referral patungong Batangas Medical Center (BatMC).

Ang nasabing referral ay para sa isang sanggol na nangangailangan ng agarang surgical intervention dahil sa imperforate a**s, isang kondisyong nangangailangan ng espesyal na operasyon sa tertiary hospital.

Ang matagumpay na paghatid at pangangalaga sa sanggol ay isinagawa ng DMFSMH Nursing Staff na si Ms. Madizel Familara, kasama ang driver na si G. Openio Espinosa Jr.. upang masiguro na patuloy ang mataas na antas ng pangagalaga at malasakit sa pasyente.

Ayon sa pamunuan ng DMFSMH, ang makasaysayang direktang referral na ito ay nagpapakita ng patuloy na pagpapalakas ng hospital referral network ng lalawigan, alinsunod sa layuning mapabilis ang pag-access ng mga Romblomanon sa mas mataas na antas ng serbisyong medikal.

Dagdag pa rito, ito ay patunay ng epektibong koordinasyon sa pagitan ng mga health facilities at ng dedikasyon ng mga frontliners upang masiguro ang de-kalidad na serbisyong pangkalusugan para sa bawat pasyente, lalo na sa mga kritikal na kaso gaya nito at bunga na rin ng referral sa mga Medical Specialists ng Romblon Provincial Hospital thru Telehealth alisunod sa kautusan ng Gobernador Trina Firmalo - Fabic

The Don Modesto Formilleza Sr. Memorial Hospital (DMFSMH) once again proved its spirit and unity as it emerged Champion in the Dance Contest during the Family Day 2025 of the Provincial Government of Romblon, held in celebration of the 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary on September 12, 2025, at Lynn’s Fern Garden, Odiongan, Romblon.

Hospital personnel came in full force for the whole-day activity, led by Administrative Officer V Cynthia E. Fetalino and Chief Nurse Perpetua Agustin. The event kicked off with a Fun Walk from the Governor’s Sub-Office in downtown Odiongan to Lynn’s Fern Garden in Barangay Budiong.

The opening program was spearheaded by Dr. Arnulfo de Luna, head of the Sub-Office, and was highlighted with lectures on work-life balance and stress management in the workplace. Among the speakers was Dr. Renato R. Menrige Jr., Provincial Health Officer I and former OIC Chief of Hospital of DMFSMH.

In Part II of the program, the much-awaited Dance Contest featured performances from various Provincial Government departments and hospitals. DMFSMH once again showcased their talent and teamwork, securing the championship title for the third consecutive year, proving to be the unbeatable champions in this category.

The celebration continued with a festive lunch and fun games until the afternoon, making the event a memorable occasion for camaraderie and wellness among provincial government employees.

Congratulations, Team DMFSMH, for bringing home the championship once again!

On Monday, September 1, 2025, during the flag-raising ceremony, the leadership of Don Modesto Formilleza Sr. Memorial Hospital (DMFSMH) was formally turned over from outgoing Officer-in-Charge Chief of Hospital, Dr. Renato R. Menrige Jr., to Dr. Benedict Anatalio, the current Chief of Hospital III of Romblon Provincial Hospital. This transition marks a new chapter for DMFSMH as it continues its mission of providing quality healthcare services to the people of Southern Tablas. Dr. Anatalio expressed his commitment to strengthen hospital operations and maintain the standard of excellence established under Dr. Menrige’s stewardship.

After successfully serving as OIC Chief of Hospital II at DMFSMH, Dr. Menrige returns to his original post as Provincial Health Officer I of the Province of Romblon. His leadership at DMFSMH has been marked by strong collaboration with local government units, improved hospital services, and dedicated support for healthcare workers, especially nurses. As he resumes his provincial role, Dr. Menrige remains steadfast in his commitment to work hand in hand with all health partners in ensuring a healthier and stronger Romblon.

The Don Modesto Formilleza Sr. Memorial Hospital (DMFSMH) Team, led by OIC Chief of Hospital II Dr. Renato R. Menrige Jr. together with Administrative Officer V Ms Cynthia Fetalino spearheaded a community outreach activity on August 19, 2025 at Ferrol Public Plaza, Ferrol, Romblon. Residents of Barangay Poblacion and Barangay Agnoc-noc benefited from the initiative, which offered Philhealth Konsulta registration, benefit orientation, medical consultations, free laboratory tests, and the distribution of essential medicines.

The activity was made possible through the strong support of Mayor Christian Gervacio, who emphasized the importance of bringing healthcare closer to the people. The event highlighted the commitment of DMFSMH and the Provincial Government of Romblon in ensuring that quality medical services reach underserved communities, fostering better health and well-being for the residents.

Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member Rickmel S. Falqueza on behalf of Governor Trina Alejandra Fabic-Firmalo backs systems improvements in the final day of Don Modesto Formilleza Sr. Memorial Hospital’s (DMFSMH) 2025 National Hospital Week celebration.

Held during a meeting with hospital section supervisors, SP Falqueza's visit became a platform for raising operational concerns and discussing proposed improvements in hospital systems and services. SP Member Falqueza expressed his support for initiatives aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery in the province, emphasizing the importance of responsive and well-coordinated systems in public hospitals.

Looc, Romblon - The Don Modesto Formilleza Sr. Memorial Hospital (DMFSMH), in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross Romblon Chapter, successfully conducted a Basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training for its frontline personnel, including ambulance drivers, nursing attendants, institutional workers, and security guards.

The session began with Dr. Renato R. Menrige Jr., Provincial Health Officer I and OIC-Chief of Hospital II, who emphasized the importance of CPR knowledge among hospital staff, particularly those who are first to respond during emergencies.

The training was facilitated by Ms. Renalyn D. Madali, who provided comprehensive lectures and hands-on demonstrations on life-saving CPR techniques. The activity aimed to equip participants with essential skills to improve emergency response and patient survival outcomes.∙
