📍The Ministry of Social Services and Development_ Omar in collaboration with Local Government Unit Join the National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week Celebration on July 19, 2023 with the theme "Persons with Disabilities Accessibility and Rights: Towards a Sustainable Future where No One is Left Behind".

A total of 40 Kalinga para sa may Kapansanan beneficiaries attended the event. A short orientation on the Programs and Services of the ministry and the significant provisions of RA 7277 (Magna Carta of Disabled Persons as amended by RA 9442). The Local Government Unit of Omar gave cash assistance and Souvenir to the participants .

MSSD - OMAR through Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) has provided sets of nutritious food supplies to indigent daycare learners in Sitio Bitinan, Barangay Capual Island last June 16, 2023.

The SFP program aims to address the issue of malnutrition and hunger among students who come from low-income families. Malnourished children often experience poor health and cognitive development, which can negatively affect their academic performance and overall well-being. Providing a regular and nutritious meal through the feeding program can help improve the students' health and nutrition, increase their energy and concentration, and ultimately enhance their academic performance.

June 14, 2023 | The Ministry of Social Services and Development - Omar Field Office continued the payout to the Person-with-Disabilities (PWDs) under Kalinga para sa may Kapansanan Program.

Each had received P1,500.00 grants for the 1st quarter of 2023. Those beneficiaries were from Barangay Andalan, Angilan, Capual Island, Huwit-huwit, Lahing-lahing, Niangkaan, Sucuban and Tangkuan.

The MSWO, Thessa M. Asakil, Raizalyn J. Rawah (SWO I), Joane J. Andaya (Municipal Link) together with PDAO of Omar, ma'am Ferdawsiya Andiling, hand-in-hand in assisting the recipients of the program. The said pay-out had started since June 12, 2023.

We would like to express our appreciation to the municipal mayor of Omar, Hon. Abdulbaki J. Ajibon, for the full support to our activity; likewise to the barangay chairmen of Omar Municipality for the accomodation, and especially to the active Para-Social Workers.

March 16, 2023 | MSSD - Omar led by Thessa M. Asakil, MSWO distributed welfare goods to the indigent families of Sitio Tandu Panuan, Barangay Niangkaan, Omar. A total of 270 families received 1 sack of rice containing 25kg with corresponding viand (food pack).

To our partner agencies, we would like to thanks for their support and assistance, the Philippine Army, RHU-Omar, and Local Government Unit of Omar, headed by Mayor Abdulbaki J. Ajibon. Likewise to our volunteers and the para social workers, for their untiring services.

March 15, 2023 | Distribution of welfare goods at Sitio Patibud, Barangay Angilan, Omar. A total of 170 indigent families received their own 1 sack of rice (25kg) with corresponding viand. This activity was in supervision of the MSWO, Thessa M. Asakil, assisted by Raizalyn J. Rawah, SWO I, Municipal Links, also through the assistance and collaboration with the Philippine Army and RHU-Omar. To our Para Social Workers and Volunteers, thank you for your dedication.
