Last October 29, 2025, the Luuk District Hospital Clinical Laboratory proudly hosted a successful demonstration of Gel Cards Blood Typing and Crossmatching conducted by Ms. Nur-Ain Ibrahim of SBSI.

This hands-on demo showcased the accuracy, efficiency, and improved workflow that gel card technology brings to immunohematology testing. Our staff gained valuable insights and practical experience that will help enhance the quality and safety of our laboratory services—especially in transfusion medicine.

A huge thank-you to SBSI for sharing their expertise and to our dedicated LDH laboratory team for their active participation and commitment to continuous learning.

The Luuk District Hospital Clinical Laboratory recently underwent an on-site validation conducted by the Ministry of Health–BARMM Health Regulation Division on October 29, 2025.

The said validation was held as part of the assessment process for the 2025 BARMM Health Facility Star Awards, in which the Luuk District Hospital Clinical Laboratory is among the shortlisted nominees.

The BARMM Health Facility Star Awards is an initiative that recognizes health facilities demonstrating excellence in service quality, patient care, and adherence to regulatory and professional standards across the Bangsamoro region.

Luuk District Hospital extends its gratitude to the MOH–BARMM team for their visit and for their continued commitment to strengthening quality healthcare services in the region.

🤲 SUCCESSFUL VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONATION ADVOCACY | SEPTEMBER 9–11, 2025 🩸

Alhamdulillah! With gratitude and unity, we mark the successful conduct of our Voluntary Blood Donation Advocacy held last September 9–11, 2025 — a noble act rooted in compassion, service, and faith.

In Islam, saving a life is among the greatest deeds one can do. As stated in the Holy Qur’an:

"And whoever saves one life – it is as if he had saved mankind entirely."
(Surah Al-Ma’idah 5:32)

Voluntary blood donation is not just a medical act — it is an ibadah (act of worship) and a reflection of our duty to care for others in need. Through your selfless donations, you have become a source of healing, mercy, and hope.

LOOK | Alhamdulillah! We are pleased to share the successful completion of the Re-Echo Training on Direct Sputum Smear Microscopy held at Luuk District Hospital!

This activity aimed to strengthen the capacity of our laboratory personnel in TB diagnosis, ensuring consistency and accuracy in smear microscopy—a vital tool in the fight against tuberculosis.

The re-echo served as a platform to reinforce core skills, share updated protocols, and address any technical gaps among our frontliners in TB control.

Our sincerest thanks to the facilitators, participants from LUUK RHU, RHU KALINGALAN CALUANG, RHU OMAR and Nurses from LDH's OPD, Ward and ER department and the hospital management for their full support and commitment to quality TB care and diagnostics.

Together, we move one step closer to a TB-free community!

LOOK: 🩸GIVE BLOOD, GIVE HOPE, TOGETHER WE SAVE LIVES 🩸

Last June 30, 2025, Luuk District Hospital, in partnership with Luuk RHU and Sulu Provincial Hospital celebrated the World Blood Donor Day as a global tribute to the millions of voluntary, unpaid blood donors who give others a second chance at life.

The activity was graced with a prayer lead by Sir Al-Khan D. Ladjahasan, RN, MAN - HEPO-II & DRO of LDH.

Mr. Nudin S. Amil, Regional Blood Program Coordinator and Sulu Provincial Hospital’s MBD Team spearheaded by Ms. Naida Quinones Nain, RMT were also acknowledged.

The activity was participated by the following partner agencies - Philippine Army, Philippine Coast and Bureau of Fire Protection.

Some residents of Brgy. Tubig Putih, Luuk, Sulu and Indanan, Sulu also participated in the MBD.

Staff of LDH also bravely volunteered to donate their bloods.

LDH’s DRO, Ms. Halima K. Abbas, RM and RHU Luuk’s DRO, Mr. Almunier Yusop also shared their insights regarding voluntary blood donation.

Tokens such as mugs and shirts (provided by the RVBSP-BARMM) were given to the blood donors in recognition of their bravery in donating their bloods in order to save lives.
