Davao City, Philippines – In an expansion of its regional advocacy, the Kabataang FPOP Maco Cluster successfully conducted a specialized Mental Health Awareness session for the adolescent learners of Governor Duterte National High School in Davao City.

The lecture was delivered by Al-khomsier M. Laja, RPm, CHRA, Cluster Head of Kabataang FPOP Maco. Drawing upon his clinical background as a Registered Psychometrician, Mr. Laja conferred with the students on the legal and psychological frameworks of well-being, specifically emphasizing the rights of the youth under Republic Act No. 11036 (The Mental Health Act).

The discourse focused on de-stigmatizing mental health struggles and empowering students to seek help, underscoring the state's policy to protect the fundamental right of every Filipino to mental health services. By engaging with students in the regional center, Kabataang FPOP reinforces its commitment to cross-boundary youth development, ensuring that comprehensive health education reaches key academic institutions regardless of geographical limits.

The Kabataang FPOP Maco Cluster expresses its profound gratitude and recognition to Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Talomo Proper for spearheading this initiative. Their leadership in prioritizing the psychosocial welfare of the youth serves as a benchmark for proactive local governance. We also extend our sincere thanks to the administration of Governor Duterte National High School for fostering a safe space where mental health is prioritized as a critical component of student success.

National Convention, Philippines – Ponciano, Jr. L. Apa, RSW, formally represented the Kabataang FPOP Davao Chapter at a significant national Learning Exchange Workshop, focusing on the Rights Based Approach for Children in Street Situations (CISS) and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) last November 23-25, 2025, at Manila, Philippines.

This engagement places the organization at the forefront of a nationwide network of non-governmental entities dedicated to protecting the vulnerable sector of children in street situations. Mr. Apa's participation was critical in conferring the experiences and regional expertise of the Kabataang FPOP to inform national strategies and policy recommendations.

The active involvement of the Kabataang FPOP at this level reaffirms the organization's legal and ethical commitment to upholding the rights of the child, ensuring that regional voices and local advocacies are duly integrated into the national discourse on child protection and welfare.

Binuangan, Maco, Davao de Oro – On August 30, 2025, the Kabataang FPOP Maco Cluster successfully executed a dual-focus information session at the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Binuangan's Linggo ng Kabataan (LNK) Celebration.

The discourse was led by two principal speakers: Ponciano, Jr. L. Apa, RSW, who addressed the critical issues of Child and Adolescent Pregnancy in consonance with Republic Act No. 10354 (RPRH Law), and Al-khomsier M. Laja, RPm, CHRA, who conferred on the imperative subject of Mental Health advocacy.

This engagement exemplifies the organization's commitment to delivering comprehensive health and empowerment programs. Furthermore, the event was duly supported by key members of the organization, with Committee Head MJ Cascabel and Treasurer John Temario providing essential technical assistance, thereby ensuring the seamless ex*****on of the program.

The Kabataang FPOP extends its thanks to the SK Binuangan Council for the invitation, underscoring the vital collaborative framework between the youth sector and local governance in safeguarding the welfare of constituents.

Representing the cluster were KFPOP Vice President Al, who served as LYLA’s Resource Speaker for Mental Health and TWG; John Gary, the LYLA Head (TWG); Nicole, an active member of the TWG; MJ, the Secretariat Committee Head (TWG); KFPOP President Ponch, who took the role of Resource Speaker for Public Health (TWG); KFPOP Treasurer and Head for Creatives John, who served as LYLA’s Media Head (TWG); and Jhon Renz, who joined as an official participant.
