LATE MAGSALITA,

ANO ANG G6PD

Ang G6PD (glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase) ay isang mahalagang enzyme sa katawan na kailangan upang masiguro ang normal na life span ng red blood cells.

Minsan, may mga sanggol na ipinanganganak na may kakulangan ng enzyme na ito.

Meaning, wala silang enzyme na ito sa katawan. Kaya tinatawag na G6PD deficiency.

Ito ay hereditary. Genetic abnormality.

Pag hindi normal ang kilos ng mga red blood cells, ito ay humahantong sa hemolytic anemya.
