๐๐๐๐ | Dr. Shaheeda Hassiman, Medical Center Chief I of Maimbung District Hospital, recently presented the hospital's 5-Year Development Plan for 2026-2030 at the Ministry of Health (MOH)-BARMM revision and refinement session of Hospital Development Plan held from August 18-22, 2025. The session provided a comprehensive look at the hospitalโs past achievements and ambitious plans for the future.
Dr. Hassiman highlighted significant upgrades, including the launch of a fully air-conditioned pediatric ward, the prioritization of staff capacity development, and the strengthening of procurement processes. She also shared plans for new facilities set to open this year, such as the Emergency Room and Administrative Building, Dental Clinic, Newborn Satellite Clinic, Out-Patient Department, CT Scan facility, and the first-ever Waste Management Facility in the province.
Dr. Hassiman emphasized the importance of community partnerships in MDH's progress and outlined goals for workforce development, enhancing health service delivery, and continuing infrastructure growth.
Dr. Kadil Sinolinding, Minister of Health, commended MDH for its impressive progress in just two years, recommending that other hospitals in the BARMM region use MDH as a benchmark for development.
In response to Minister Sinolindingโs question about advice for fellow hospital leaders, Dr. Hassiman emphasized that the hospital workforce is the greatest asset of any organization. She stressed the importance of continuous training, skill development, and participatory leadership, noting that all hospital staff play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and driving the hospital's success.
Dr. Hassiman also expressed gratitude to MOH-BARMM for its support over the past two years, which has made these accomplishments possible.
