π‹πŽπŽπŠ | Maimbung District Hospital conducted a benchmarking activity at the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center (MMMHMC) on January 23, 2025. MMMHMC, a multi-specialty institution with an established Public Health Unit and fully functional committees, served as a model for best practices relevant to MDH’s ongoing development.

In preparation for the upcoming opening of the Out-Patient Department and Public Health Unit, the activity aimed to adopt strategies that promote continuity of patient care and enhance the overall patient experience. It also provided a comprehensive and hands-on understanding of the establishment of a Quality Management System, implementation of Electronic Medical Records, and strengthening of Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with standards, long-term patient benefit, and improved efficiency in hospital governance and transactions.

Present during the activity were Medical Center Chief II Dr. Maria Lourdes K. Otayza; Chief of Medical Professional Staff Dr. Jose B. Orosa III; and staff from the QMS, CQI, PHU, and the Integrated Hospital Operations and Management Program.

The MDH expresses its sincere gratitude to Dr. Otayza and the entire MMMHMC team for the warm welcome and for providing a comprehensive walkthrough of their systems and processes. The hospital looks forward to sustained collaboration between the two institutions. Maraming maraming salamat po.

Maimbung District Hospital is recognized as the 2nd Best Level 1 Hospital in the entire BARMM Region during the Health Facility Star Awards 2025. This award was personally received by the Medical Center Chief, Dr. Shaheeda T. Hassiman, on January 13, 2026, in Cotabato City.

The journey of MDH over the past three years has never been easy. Behind the infrastructures that now stand and the growing services we provide are countless procedures crafted, policies strengthened, mechanisms built, and processes carefully followed. Along the way came challenges, seen and unseen. There were silent battles fought daily by every personnel, from institutional workers and administrative support to healthcare frontliners and leaders. Yet, despite everything, our people chose to stay. They chose service over comfort, duty over ease, and hope over fear.

This is for every sacrifice made for a mother in labor, a child in pain, and a family seeking healing. It belongs to every healthcare worker of MDH who reports for duty on time despite personal struggles; to the institutional staff who work quietly behind the scenes; to the administrative support who diligently comply with circulars and process every document; to the leaders who carry the heavy weight of responsibility; and to all who believed that even in the farthest corners, every life matters. This proves that geography does not limit excellence, and that genuine service can rise from the most unexpected places. Bang man kamu halawm parihala sin Allah katan.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the BARMM Government for seeing our efforts and believing in our journey. Your recognition tells us that our sacrifices were seen, our struggles were not in vain, and our service has meaning. We promise that we will keep going, we will keep improving, and we will keep serving all for Allah and for the people of Sulu.

Magsukul tuud.
