High engagement doesn’t always mean employees are okay.

During his guesting on BNC's Follow the Money, Dr. Marshall Valencia shared an important insight from PVP’s workforce analytics research involving over 8,300 Filipino employees:

Employees may still be engaged, committed, and showing up for work, while quietly struggling with:
📉 Heavy workload
📉 Poor work-life balance
📉 Burnout and mental health strain

Because employees staying productive does not automatically mean the workplace itself is healthy.

Organizations need to look beyond engagement scores and start understanding the deeper drivers behind employee well-being and performance.

Participants didn't ask for less.

They asked for more time, broader participation, and greater leadership involvement.

That was one of the strongest takeaways from our recent onsite workshop with DBP where Talk To Suzy and PVPI Philippines joined to host.

Together, we explored practical approaches to managing stress, responding under pressure, setting boundaries, and building habits that support better performance and wellbeing at work.

Thank you to the DBP team for the trust, engagement, and thoughtful conversations.

The conversation continues.

Why are younger employees more affected by stress and burnout today?

During his guest appearance on BNC’s Follow the Money, Dr. Marshall Valencia shared that Gen Z and younger Millennial employees consistently showed higher levels of mental health strain in PVP’s workforce analytics research.
According to Dr. Valencia, younger employees today are growing up in a very different environment, shaped by:
📱 Social media
⚡ Constant comparison
🧠 Different expectations and pressures

This is why organizations need to better understand younger employees beyond workplace stereotypes.

Because supporting employee well-being is also preparing for the future workforce.

Organizations today are investing more in employee well-being and workplace mental health.

But an important question remains:
Are you measuring it effectively?

Many organizations implement wellness programs without clear visibility into their employees’ actual mental health conditions, from stress and anxiety to burnout and presenteeism. Without the right mental health data, it becomes difficult to identify where meaningful intervention is needed.

eWellnessMetre is an HR analytics tool designed to provide a comprehensive assessment of workplace mental health.

It measures the prevalence of stress, anxiety, depression, burnout, and presenteeism, and more importantly, uncovers the underlying drivers behind these outcomes.

Because real impact doesn’t come from awareness alone.
It comes from measuring, understanding, and acting on the right insights.
