Today we received the conferment of Masters in Hospital Administration (MHA). Thank you to our professors who imparted their knowledge, as well as to family and friends for their understanding and support.

Did you know that Mr. Oscar Lopez (chairman of the Lopez Inc and FPH) had an eye condition that required him to fly thousands of miles regularly to see his doctor abroad? Mr. OML considered - what if he can bring this world-class eye care here in the Philippines, accessible to every Filipino? With this, Asian Eye Institute was envisioned and now, 22 years later, the center continues to stand strong with 8 sites and serve hundreds of thousands of patients.

I remember several years back when he gave his speech in the opening of our satellite clinic in Alabang. Just a few years after graduation, it was really awe-inspiring to hear how he named each of us, young Ophthalmologists, and welcomed us and expressed his belief in our potential and capacity to be strong contributors to our chosen field and subspecialty. This left a lasting impression in us to bring our A-game for each patient we serve and to always strive to be better than we can be.

Sir, you and Dr. Tolentino have paved the way for making this vision a reality. Each and everyone in AEI will continue to uphold the center’s mission to provide high quality eye care on a par with the best in the world.
