The Makati Medical Center – Department of Pediatrics Community Program was established in 2008. Since then, the department was able to serve different communities such as Brgy. Kasilawan in Makati, Bukas Palad Foundation in Pasay, and Cembo Health Community Center, Makati. The pediatric staff and trainees provide pediatric consultations, both for well-babies and sick children; they hold advocacy l

ectures such as: Breastfeeding for pregnant and lactating women, Oral Health Care, Immunization, lectures on common childhood diseases; to deliver proper care to the pediatric population in the community. Since the start of the pandemic in 2020, the department modified its community program for continuity of care. This year, with the help of social media, it will be able to reach out to people in different communities. Online educational materials will be shared – in the form of posters, short clips, and even live question and answer sessions, to help the parents and caregivers give the best care for their children; and to enlighten them about their kids’ health concerns

BREASTFEEDING AWARENESS 🤱🏻❤️

Ang Department of Health (DOH), kasama ng Philippine Pediatric Society (PPS) at ng Philippine Society of Newborn Medicine (PSNbM), ay nakikiisa sa pagtataguyod ng Essential Intrapartum Newborn Care (EINC) o Unang Yakap lalo na sa panahon ngayon ng pandemya. Hindi lang ito importante para sa mga anak, kundi para na rin sa mga ina na may “suspected” o “confirmed” COVID-19 “exposure” o impeksyon.
