If you're wondering how botulinum toxin injections affect your face after two weeks, here I am!!! My face looks very natural, and I can move it!!!

Also, let me tell you more about the DAO or depressor anguli oris muscle. As its name suggests, it depresses (depressor) the angle of the mouth (anguli oris) and pulls it slightly laterally. It facilitates expressing sadness and assists in opening the mouth. Injecting this muscle is an advanced technique because if not done properly, it can make you look asymmetrical and can affect the function of the mouth. But if done right (on the right patient), it makes the face look lifted.

The first symptom of eczema is actually itch!!! Itch comes before any visible rash. I want to share some non-steroidal products that you can use to relieve the itchiness. These products are safe to use for all age groups for a looooooong time!!!

When I started my dermatology practice, eczemas/ atopic dermatitis/ skin asthma were most often treated with topical steroids. Moisturizers were the last in the priority list of medications to buy.

However, in the recent years and after studying more about eczema, I've turned 360 degrees and placed good moisturizers in the top of my prescription. In this video, I explain why we atopic skin need to apply moisturizers daily -- yes, even when you are not in flare!

I love dermatology!!! Apart from surgeries, lasers and injectables, I truly enjoy the medical side of dermatology too. Last year, I went all in and studied immunology.

Dermatologic immunology is a specialized field that investigates the intricate interplay between the immune system and the skin. It encompasses the study of immune responses within the skin. Dermatologic immunology is crucial for understanding the pathogenesis of various immune-mediated skin diseases, such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis, and for developing therapeutic interventions that target the underlying immune dysregulation. While these diseases are chronic and have no permanent cure, knowing how to prevent and manage the condition improves the patient's quality of life.

PS: Yes, my whole family has some form of atopy, one or the other, so I'm really invested in this aspect of dermatology!
