Mitzvah Day - faith-led day of social action - at Alyth Reform Synagogue, where people of different faiths got together to help prepare soup for Alyth’s Big Soup Serve project now in its 20th year. The soup was going to be served the next day at the Monday club and also frozen to keep for the night shelter next month for people who are homeless. People of six different faiths took part, including Rt Revd Dr Anderson Jeremiah, Bishop of Edmonton, Fauzia Saeed of Muslim World League London Office, Rabbi Hannah Kingston and Laura Marks from Alyth, Padideh Sabeti from the Bah’ai community, Rachel Priestman from Global Co-operation House and others. A really lovely evening doing something practical together whilst enjoying each others’ company.
