These are called "Bay leaves"
Many people add bay leaves to foods especially jollof rice (Nigerian), red meat and poultry but do you know why bay leaves are added to food?
When asked why, some reply: to add flavor to the food👐

Do you know that If you boil some bay leaves in a glass of water and taste it, it will have no flavor?
Now why do you put bay leaves in the meat?

The addition of bay leaves to meat converts triglycerides to monounsaturated fats, and for experimentation and confirmation:

Cut the chicken in half and cook each half in a pan and place on one bay leaf, and the other without bay leaf and observe the amount of fat in both pans.

If you have bay leaves, there is no need for a pharmacy. Recent scientific studies have shown that bay leaves have many benefits & helps to get rid of many serious health problems and illnesses.

The benefits of bay leaf are: -

*Bay leaf treats digestive disorders and helps eliminate lumps, Heartburn, Acidity & Constipation.

*It helps regulate bowel movement by drinking hot bay tea.

*It lowers blood sugar and bay leaf is also an antioxidant

*It allows the body to produce insulin by eating it or drinking bay tea for a month.

*It's rich in acids such as caffeic acid, quercetin, eigonol and bartolinide, substances that prevent the formation of cancer cells in the body.

*It eliminates insomnia and anxiety, if taken before bed, helps you relax and sleep peacefully.

Madalas ka bang naghihilik? Nagsasawa ka na ba sa malakas na hilik ng kasama mong matulog? Alamin ang mga masasamang epekto ng paghilik sa kalusugan at ang mga paraan kung paano ito masosolusyunan.

Mga Epekto sa Kalusugan ng Paghilik
Ang mga madalas na paghilik ay maaaring magdulot ng masamang epekto sa katawan ng tao. Kasama na dito ang obstructive sleep apnea. Ito ay nagdudulot ng iba pang mga problema tulad ng:

1. Mahabang pagputol sa paghinga (mahigit sampung segundo) habang natutulog dahil sa sagabal o harang sa daanan ng hangin.
2. Madalas na paggising mula sa pagtulog kahit na hindi mo namamalayan na nagigising ka.
3. Mababaw na pagtulog. Ang mga taong may obstructive sleep apnea ay hindi nakakatulog ng malalim upang mapigilan ang pagiging relaxed ng kanilang throat muscles upang hindi ito makasagabal sa daanan ng hangin. Ang mga taong madalas humilik ay laging inaantok sa umaga.
4. Pagkapagod ng puso. Ang obstructive sleep apnea ay nagreresulta sa mataas na presyon (blood pressure) at maaaring magdulot na paglaki ng puso na nagpapataas ng posibilidad ng stroke at atake sa puso
5. Iregular na tibok ng puso. Ang mga taong matagal nang humihilik ay may posibilidad na magkaroon ng iregular na tibok ng puso. Ang mga taong naghihilik ay napag-alaman na madalas na nagkakaroon ng atrial fibrillation kaysa sa mga tao na hindi naghihilik.
6. Mababang lebel ng oxygen sa katawan. Maaari itong magdulot ng pagsikip ng mga ugat sa baga at maaaring magdulot ng pulomonary hypertension kalaunan.
7. Gastroesophageal reflux disease o GERD. Madalas itong maranasan ng mga may sleep apnea. Ang mga may sleep apnea ay nakakaranas ng GERD sapagkat hindi tama ang pagsara ng daanan ng hangin. Nagdudulot ito ng pagbabago sa pressure na humihigop ng mga pagkaing tinutunaw na sa tiyan pabalik sa esophagus.

9. Pagtaba
10. Pakiramdam na laging pagod sa umaga.

Mahalagang kumosulta sa doktor o sleep specialist upang malaman ang kalagayan mo at kung nakakasama na sa iyong kalusugan ang iyong paghilik. Prevention is better than cure.
