ADVISORY: WEAR FACE MASK WHEN GOING OUT OF THE HOUSE 😷
The Manila City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department informs all Manileño to wear face masks when going out of the house, in line with the continuous monitoring of the air quality situation in the country's Capital.
Based on the Air Quality Index (AQI) from four monitoring locations under the Hinga Manila Program this April 11, 2026, at 5:00 pm, Anda Circle, San Sebastian Residences, and Sta. Ana Hospital were recorded at the “Fair”, while Puregold Tayuman was at the “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups level. ”
Because of this, those in the sensitive sector, especially children, senior citizens, pregnant women, and those with chronic lung, heart, or asthma diseases, may experience adverse health effects. Those with respiratory illnesses such as asthma are advised to avoid or limit outdoor activities in areas affected by UFSG air levels.
According to the monitoring, this could be linked to thick smoke from the ongoing fire at the Navotas Sanitary Landfill, reaching Metro Manila and neighboring areas.
The public is advised to exercise caution, limit prolonged staying outdoors if not necessary, and practice wearing face masks as a precaution against the adverse effects of polluted air.
The relevant City Government offices continue to monitor the situation to ensure the safety and welfare of every Manileño.
