Concluding our summer infographic series "Cool-Up for Health," is something filling, surprisingly going beyond cold drinks and healthy snacks. β₯οΈ
You can choose light and refreshing recipes that will certainly prevent heat strokes and other health risk factors during this hot tropical climate in the Philippines.
============
π #05/06: CORN
============
This may surprise many of us, but enjoying a serving of corn on the cob can be healthier than we think!
Categorically a vegetable, corn contains lutein and zeaxanthin. These two nutrients are good for eye health as they may act like natural sunglasses that can form macular pigments that filter out some of the sun's damaging rays! π½
These same antioxidants may also help lower your risk of developing age-related macular degeneration. Filling enough and with 2 grams of fiber, a corn cob only has 60 calories.
========================
π #06/06: GRILLED FISH / SALMON
========================
In contrast to the earlier refreshing fruits and healthy snacks - this one's a serving of grilled fish or salmon!
Grilling is definitely one of the healthier ways to prepare . White fish in general are a great source of lean protein, grilling only takes a short time to cook, making the food light and easy to digest. Enjoy it in a variety of presentations such as with tacos, kebabs or a simple sandwich. π
If you'd have to choose, go for salmon; it's full of heart-healthy Omega-3 fats!
Now we know better! More corn and fish please, for healthier skin and overall wellness.
