Q: Why Does My Vision Improve When I Tilt or Turn My Head?

A: You may turn or tilt your head for any of the following reasons:
- Eye Misalignment (Strabismus)
- Duane Syndrome
- Nystagmus
- Ptosis
- Refractive Error

If you find that you're tilting or turning your head to see objects or read better, it’s important to schedule an eye exam to identify the cause of the problem.

Patients with ocular neurological problems may be experiencing some of these symptoms:

Eye strain, headaches or migraines
Eye turn or blurry vision
Reading or attention problems
Difficulty moving the eyes
Involuntary eye movements
Pressure in the eyes or head
Uneven pupils
Double vision
Droopy eyelids
Facial distortion

If your eye doctor suspects that your eye condition may be rooted in the nerves or the brain, they may recommend an appointment with a neuro-ophthalmologist, who is trained to diagnose and treat eye irregularities with a neurological cause.

Our Story

At Abesamis Eye, we aim to provide the best vision care by practicing optometry in accordance with the global standards of good clinical practice. We perform and advocate for comprehensive vision exams and say no to stand-alone refraction. We aim to provide our patients the best visual care within our capabilities, and we do this by a commitment to learning and education of our optometrists, keeping up to date with research from literature and journals, evidence-based practices, and upgrading skills through attending local and international conferences and trainings. We believe that as optometrists, we are at the forefront of vision care, and we take this role seriously. Since 1928, Abesamis Eye has been serving the visual needs of Filipinos. What started out as a laboratory of lenses in Quiapo, Manila, became a full-fledged optometry eye center in Makati City with internationally-trained doctors who have served and continues to serve the visual needs of thousands of patients in the Philippines.
