NEWS | As security risks and geopolitical tensions continue to affect seafarers operating in high-risk waters, crews are being given new mental wellbeing tools designed specifically for crisis conditions at sea.
Halcyon Health Network, Inc., a Philippine-based maritime healthcare company, announced the release of the first part of its BrainHealth Wellbeing Field Guide series titled Crisis Conditions at Sea, a free resource aimed at helping crews manage stress, uncertainty, and emotional strain while operating in volatile regions, including parts of the Middle East.
The digital guide provides practical mental wellbeing support intended for immediate use during periods of acute stress onboard vessels, where prolonged exposure to stress and operational pressure can affect cognitive clarity and emotional stability.
Halcyon said the resource was developed in response to the growing psychological demands faced by seafarers operating in volatile and high-risk waters and is intended to be shared freely among crews, shipping companies, and manning agencies.
“Crew resilience is not a competitive advantage to guard. It is a shared responsibility,” said Glennda E. Canlas, MD, President and CEO of Arla Jolla Holdings, Inc.
The company said the Field Guide forms part of a broader long-term mental wellbeing initiative under BrainHealth, which also includes resources focused on sustained recovery, resilience, and mental fitness throughout a seafarer’s career.
The guide is available as a free digital download through BrainHealth communication platforms and partner channels.
