BRIEF HISTORY OF PHILIPPINE ROTC

In 1862,ROTC was established in the United States as a college elective focusing on military training and discipline.Many countries that were connected with the United States then followed the same program including the Republic of the Philippines.On the brink of World War II in the year 1912,the Americans established the first Philippine ROTC unit in the University of the Philippines even after the country gained its independence,the ROTC program remained a college elective for all Filipino students.

The ๐‘ช๐’Š๐’•๐’š ๐’๐’‡ ๐‘ด๐’‚๐’๐’‚๐’ƒ๐’๐’ ๐‘ผ๐’๐’Š๐’—๐’†๐’“๐’”๐’Š๐’•๐’š ๐‘น๐‘ถ๐‘ป๐‘ช ๐‘ผ๐’๐’Š๐’• once again had a successful training day. It is another exciting turn of events where COCC aspirants were formed. This is the time where their patience, resilience, and loyalty will be tested. Being a COCC aspirant is the first step in the making of an Advance Cadet Officer. We will see their willingness and commitment during the time being. They will undergo rigorous training under the guidance of the ๐ถ๐‘–๐‘ก๐‘ฆ ๐‘œ๐‘“ ๐‘€๐‘Ž๐‘™๐‘Ž๐‘๐‘œ๐‘› ๐‘ˆ๐‘›๐‘–๐‘ฃ๐‘’๐‘Ÿ๐‘ ๐‘–๐‘ก๐‘ฆ ๐‘…๐‘‚๐‘‡๐ถ ๐‘ˆ๐‘›๐‘–๐‘ก. We will witness whether they will excel or continue the legacy of the ๐ถ๐‘€๐‘ˆ ๐‘…๐‘‚๐‘‡๐ถ ๐‘ˆ๐‘›๐‘–๐‘ก.

The training day started at 0700H, the cadets have executed basic facing and commands. At 0840H, the cadets made their way to their respective classrooms for the lectures, Standards of Conduct of a Soldier and Rule of Law, tackled by Sgt Mark Jason V Balanay PA (Res), Sgt Manny Cardenas PA (Res), and Sgt Manny Mabansag PA (Res). A soldier is expected to uphold discipline, loyalty, honor, integrity, professionalism, respect for authority, courage, and service before self while always respecting human rights and international humanitarian law. Rule of law lectures emphasize that the military is under civilian authority and the Constitution, requiring soldiers to act lawfully and professionally, protect civilians, uphold dignity, and avoid abuses, as they represent both the Armed Forces and the nation.

At 1150H, the cadets formed for the preparation for dismissal, and at exactly 1200H, the cadets were dismissed to end the training day.

The ๐ถ๐‘–๐‘ก๐‘ฆ ๐‘œ๐‘“ ๐‘€๐‘Ž๐‘™๐‘Ž๐‘๐‘œ๐‘› ๐‘ˆ๐‘›๐‘–๐‘ฃ๐‘’๐‘Ÿ๐‘ ๐‘–๐‘ก๐‘ฆ ๐‘…๐‘‚๐‘‡๐ถ ๐‘ˆ๐‘›๐‘–๐‘ก attended the mentioned seminar above and started around 0830H. The Seminar began with the mass singing of National Anthem, followed by an opening prayer.

The project aims to provide broad knowledge and much more awareness against different bombs that leads to the death of many and destruction of infrastructures. The Project ABKD was established due to bomb threats nationwide. It is also a step against Terrorism/NPA. The project started on 22 April 2016. The PNP-EOD-UNIT, BOMB SQUAD - SCHOOLING led the seminar at the CMU Hall of City of Malabon University.

The seminar ended around 1130H with the singing of CMU Hymn.

The lectures were tackled by Cpl Mary Jane M Pacheco PA (Res), Sgt Nicolai Dela Rosa PA (Res), Sgt Antonnete B Sandayan PA (Res), Sgt Arhis P Arcega PA (Res), Sgt Jonavie Casey M Parama PA (Res), Sgt Luisa Mae C Organista PA (Res), and Sgt Manny Cardenas PA (Res).
