A medical disease known as obesity develops when a person has extra body fat or weight that may be detrimental to their health. A BMI healthy weight calculator can be used to determine if a person is overweight, obese, or at a healthy weight. The majority of persons have a BMI of:
18.5 to 24.9: indicates that your weight is within a healthy range.

If you are between 25 and 29.9, you are overweight.
If you're between 30 and 39.9, you're obese.
If you are 40 or older, you are considered seriously obese.

Health risks
About one in four people and one in five youngsters between the ages of 10 and 11 suffer from obesity.
Numerous severe and even fatal medical disorders can result from it, such as:
- Diabetes type two
- Coronary heart disease
- Stroke
- Cancers of the stomach, liver, kidney, pancreas, and bowel.
