𝐄𝐓𝐃: 𝟐𝟗𝟏

Today’s blessing came with feathers and a heartbeat.

As a Doctor to the Barrio, we do not accept professional fees, yet today I was reminded that gratitude finds its own way of being expressed.

A patient I briefly encountered before asked for my birthday and remembered it. For the past week, while I was assigned at the Super Health Center in Lun Padidu, he had been trying to find me. Today, during my duty at HAKS RHU in Poblacion, we finally met again. I was later told by our nurses that he had been coming every day just to check if I was on duty. He came carrying a live chicken, a gift he had been waiting to give, worried that he might miss the chance.

Moments like this remind me that beyond consultations and treatments, there are genuine human connections being formed. Gestures like this may seem simple, but they carry deep gratitude and sincerity that no “professional fee” can match

𝗘𝗧𝗗: 𝟯𝟯𝟭-𝟯𝟯𝟲

For the past week, we challenged ourselves to think deeper, collaborate harder, and push beyond our limits as our group (Dr. Facultad, Dr. Llacuna, Dr. Olea, Dr. Paypa, Dr. Santos and Dr. Solatorio) developed our GIR proposal during the colloquium which is a much improved work from my original study, “𝐵𝑎𝑏𝑎𝑒 𝐿𝑎𝑛𝑔 𝐴𝑛𝑔 𝐴𝑎𝑠𝑎ℎ𝑎𝑛? 𝑁𝑜𝑡 𝐹𝑎𝑖𝑟, 𝑀𝑒𝑛: 𝐺𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑛𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑆𝑒𝑟𝑣𝑖𝑐𝑒 𝐷𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦 𝐵𝑎𝑟𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑟𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝐹𝑎𝑚𝑖𝑙𝑦 𝑃𝑙𝑎𝑛𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑈𝑡𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑧𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝐴𝑚𝑜𝑛𝑔 𝐵’𝑙𝑎𝑎𝑛 𝑀𝑒𝑛 𝑖𝑛 𝑀𝑎𝑙𝑎𝑝𝑎𝑡𝑎𝑛, 𝑆𝑎𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑎𝑛𝑖.”

This journey was not just about research, but about amplifying a message we strongly believe in: bakit babae lang ang aasahan when it comes to family planning? It is time to engage men, empower communities, and create more inclusive health systems.

By God’s grace, our efforts were recognized with the 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞’𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝, 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐉𝐮𝐫𝐲 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝, and the 𝐁𝐋𝐔𝐄 𝐒𝐊𝐘 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐃!

Thank you, Ateneo School of Government, for this meaningful opportunity to learn, grow, hear brilliant ideas from my fellow Doctors to the Barrios and serve with purpose.

𝗘𝗧𝗗: 𝟯𝟱𝟲

Last post for the day.

We had our orientation on CODI and other GAD policies, a meaningful reminder of the responsibility we carry not only to treat patients but also to uphold safe and respectful workplaces. I also got to reunite with my Sarangani DTTB family once again, which made the day even more special. Somehow, I even earned the nickname “DTTB Pro Max.” It was truly an eventful day filled with learning, laughter, and fellowship.

𝗘𝗧𝗗: 𝟯𝟱𝟳

Typical Manic Monday.

Still, I am thankful for the strength that God gave, for His guidance throughout the day, and even for simple joys like free food. No matter how tired you are, somehow everything feels lighter once a meal is shared. Small blessings like these make even the busiest days a little easier and remind me that God cares for us in both the big and ordinary moments.

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Sunday, Lord’s Day!

Revived by the preaching, “Because He Lives.” I spent time meditating on the message and on this wonderful song that reminds me of the hope we have in Christ.

Because He lives,
I can face tomorrow.

Because I know
He holds the future,
