And I’ve been invited for the school’s first-ever BOOK TALK at the Center for Learning Resources.

As an alumnus, this moment is deeply humbling,
to return home,
to stand before fellow Benildeans and esteemed faculty,
and to pause together
to examine the cultural patterns that shape how we live, learn, and lead our health.

Full circle. Coming home to Benilde.
From walking these halls as a student

to returning as an author whose book now lives on the shelves of the Benilde Library.

Honored to be invited back for “The Story Behind the Story” this National Book Week—
a moment to share not just the book, but the heart behind it.

Grateful for this milestone,
grounded in the journey,
and growing with the community that shaped so much of who I am.

Is a tool,

One act of care.
That’s all it took.

Back in college—lost, anxious,
and unsure of where I was headed—
The Dizon family took me in.
They gave me a home, not just a house.
Belief, not just advice.
Their father even paid for a semester of my education—
no strings attached, just love in motion.

That single act changed everything.
It planted the seed that grew into
what I now call
a Culture of Care.

Because care, when embodied, doesn’t end with you—
it ripples through the lives you touch.

Grateful beyond words.
