Meet 𝑱𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒏:
𝑱𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒏 is one of the first trained peer educators, community-based screeners, and HIV counselors in Aklan. A passionate advocate for HIV awareness and ally of people living with HIV (PLHIV), he has played a vital role in expanding access to HIV services in the Island. As a Community Mobilization Officer for AIHA based in Boracay, Jesson successfully distributed over 800 bottles of PrEP in collaboration with the BUKAY Community Teen Center and dedicated volunteers. Known for his compassion, empathy, and dedication, Jesson brings care and heart to every client interaction, making essential HIV services more accessible to those who need them most.

Based in Ibajay, Aklan, Sir Ramonito Miroy is a gifted artist celebrated for his handcrafted wire-wrapped and woven jewelry. Each piece reflects his deep passion, precision, and dedication to his craft.

But his artistry is just one part of who he is. Sir Ramonito is also a committed HIV awareness advocate and a proud ally of the PLHIV (People Living with HIV) community. As one of Aklan’s first trained Community-Based Screeners, he has played a key role in bringing HIV-related services closer to those who need them.

Much like his jewelry, his advocacy is built with care, intention, and heart—showing that creativity and compassion, when combined, can inspire meaningful and lasting change.

Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is a medication taken by individuals who do not have HIV to prevent them from contracting the virus. It's a highly effective method of HIV prevention, particularly for those at high risk. PrEP works by blocking the HIV virus from replicating if someone is exposed to it, either through s*x or injection drug use.
