Ibabao Pharmacy joins the nation in mourning the passing of Ms. Vivien Que-Azcona, President of Mercury Drug Corporation.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Que-Azcona family, Mercury Drug Corporation, and all whose lives have been touched by her leadership and legacy. Ms. Vivien Que-Azcona was a visionary who dedicated her life to advancing access to quality healthcare for Filipinos. Her unwavering commitment to service and excellence will continue to inspire generations in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.
MERCURY DRUG PRESIDENT DIES AT 69
Vivian Que, a UST alumna and the longtime president of Mercury Drug, the country’s leading drugstore chain, passed away on April 5 aged 69. UST Pharmacy Dean and Philippine Pharmacists Association, Inc. President Aleth Dacanay confirmed Que’s death to the Varsitarian.
A graduate of the UST Faculty of Pharmacy, Que is the daughter of Mercury Drug founder Mariano Que. She took the helm of the company in 1998, leading its expansion to over 1,200 branches nationwide.
In 2011, during UST’s 400th anniversary, she was honored with the Quadricentennial Award for Exemplary Service to the University.
