Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) remains one of the leading causes of acquired heart disease in Filipino children and young adults.

Marami pa rin ang pasyente na simpleng hindi nagamot na tonsillitis, na humahantong sa Rheumatic Fever, at sa kalaunan ay nagdudulot ng permanenteng pinsala sa heart valves.

💔 Kung hindi maagapan:
• Paghingal
• Palpitations
• Paulit-ulit na ubo
• Heart failure
• Stroke/Arrythmia
• Need for heart surgery or valve replacement

🩺 Ang maganda: RHD is preventable.
✔️ Ipagamot agad ang sore throat
✔️ Kumpletuhin ang antibiotics
✔️ Regular na penicillin prophylaxis (Benzathine Penicillin G injection) kung may Rheumatic Fever at Mild RHD
✔️ Regular check-up lalo na kung may heart murmur

At kung umabot na sa punto ng SURGERY, huwag matakot. Modern valve repair and replacement procedures give children and young adults a second chance at a healthier, fuller life.
