2024 marks the 50th year Nutrition Month in the Philippines. For the 50th Nutrition Month, the National Nutrition Council has chosen the theme: “Sa Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) Sama-Sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat.” It aims to improve nutrition across all the life stages through strategies such as improving consumption of healthier diets, adoption of positive nutrition practices and increased access to quality nutrition services.

Many cancers in children are found early, either by a child’s doctor or by parents. But cancers in children can be hard to recognize right away because early symptoms are often like those caused by much more common illnesses or injuries. Early diagnosis and referral remain one of the key factors in surviving childhood cancer.

Having knowledge of the early warning signs can be useful in promoting awareness of childhood.
