Celebrating Nutrition Month 2025 at St. Catherine Academy, Mambusao, Capiz.
With the theme “Food Security, Maging Priority, Sapat na Pagkain, Karapatan Natin!”, this year’s celebration shone a light on the importance of health, nutrition, and food security as a basic right of every Filipino child.
The program was gracefully hosted by Ms. Lara Joy Caberte, RSW, and warmly opened with inspiring words from Dr. Merlita Navarra, School Principal. The celebration was made more vibrant with a lively Nutrition Dance presentation by the SCA Dancers, followed by the Rationale of the Program shared by PHU Head Jeffrey D. Abunas.
The pupils gained valuable knowledge through the talks of our distinguished speakers:
Ms. Catherine Marie Besa, MAN, RN, IPCN – highlighting the importance of proper handwashing in disease prevention, and Ms. Anelyn Marie Erfe, Nutritionist – discussing the practical guide of Pinggang Pinoy for balanced and healthy eating.
In recognition of their dedication, certificates of appreciation were awarded to our speakers. To end the day on a joyful note, pupils were treated with healthy snacks and tokens, a reminder of the importance of choosing nutritious food.
The program was meaningfully concluded with words of gratitude from Ms. Maila Martelino, Administrative Officer, whose heartfelt message inspired everyone to continue prioritizing good health and nutrition.
Special thanks to Esther’s Bakeshop for their generosity as one of our valued sponsors — your support helped make this celebration more meaningful and memorable.
Our deepest thanks to the organizers, teachers, health workers, and most especially the pupils, for making this celebration truly memorable. Together, we can uphold the call that food security and proper nutrition are not just priorities, but rights for all.
Let us continue to champion nutrition and health — for our children, our community, and our future.
