Honored to be at the Sangguniang Bayan of Manay today to share insights on critical health legislative measures. These initiatives are vital steps toward building a more resilient and responsive healthcare system for all Manayans. 🌊🙌

Today, we discussed three key pillars for our community’s well-being:

Ensuring Medicine Safety: Supporting a resolution to authorize DOH Pharmacists to monitor and technically supervise local pharmacies. This ensures that every medicine dispensed in our municipality meets the highest standards of safety and quality. 💊✅

Securing Health Data: Moving forward with a resolution for Hon. Mayor Jon Marco Dayanghirang to enter into confidentiality agreements with health personnel and the DOH. Protecting the privacy of our citizens' health information is paramount in this digital age. 🔐📜

Bringing Healthcare Closer: Advocating for an ordinance to manage the PhilHealth Capitation Fund for the PhilHealth Konsulta Package. This will ensure that funds are properly managed to provide accessible primary care, check-ups, and medicines for every family. 🏥🤝

🏠 Assistance is on the way!

The Philippine Red Cross Davao Oriental recently coordinated with LGU Manay for the release of Multi-Purpose Cash Grants.

This assistance is dedicated to 310 thoroughly assessed individuals whose homes were totally damaged during the doublet earthquake last October 2025.

Our team gathered yesterday, April 6, 2026 for our 4th regular meeting to fine-tune our health services for every Manayan. From analyzing our 1st Quarter PIR to planning the upcoming PhilHealth Yakap Caravan, we are committed to proactive healthcare.

What we discussed:

✅ Blood Donation Programs
✅ Team Work Attitude & Service Evaluation
✅ Nutrition Commodity Distribution

We also distributed new water dispensers and nutrition supplies to further boost our barangay health stations.

PhilHealth YAKAP: Gipakusgan nato ang pag-orient sa atong mga BHWs para mas dali ang inyong pagpa-enroll ug pag-avail sa libreng check-up ug laboratoryo.

Province-wide Health System: Gi-awhag nato ang pagsuporta sa pag-usa sa sistema sa panglawas sa tibuok probinsya aron dili na kamo maglisod kung kinahanglan i-refer gikan sa Barangay Health Station padulong sa Davao Oriental Provincial Hospital Manay.

Prevention is Key: Adunay mga gipahigayon na Free Chest X-ray (Active Case Finding) aron masiguro nga TB-free ang atong komunidad. Sa mga kababayenhan, adunay free VIA and breast examinations.

Mental Health: Gi-apil na nato ang Psychological First Aid sa atong mga programa para sa kinatibuk-ang kaayohan sa matag pamilya.

Daghang salamat kang Punong Barangay ug sa tibuok Barangay Council sa Holy Cross sa inyong mainitong pagdawat! Ang inyong kooperasyon mao ang yawe sa atong kalampusan.

Last Tuesday, March 24, 2026, the Local Government Unit of Manay, led by Municipal Mayor Jon Marco Dayanghirang, Committee Chair on Health Municipal Councilor Jan Mae Dayanghirang-Llavore, RN, and OIC-MHO Jenie B Lahora, attended the year's first full board meeting at Honey's Hotel, Mati City.

The session was presided over by Assistant Chairperson Dr. Reden VB Bersaldo, focusing on key provincial health agendas and the continued implementation of Universal Health Care (UHC).

Our attendance is vital to ensure that Manay remains aligned with the province’s healthcare goals. By participating in these high-level discussions, we secure better coordination, resource allocation, and streamlined medical services for every constituent in our municipality.

These essential supplies are more than just gifts; they are a commitment to ensuring the health and well-being of both mother and child.

Research Update for the Residents of Barangay Cayawan! 🦀

The Medical Laboratory Science research group from the University of the Immaculate Conception (College of Medical and Biological Sciences) recently conducted a field study in Barangay Cayawan, Davao Oriental. This fieldwork is part of their ongoing study, "Detection of Selected Crustacean-Borne Helminths in Endemic Barangays of Davao Oriental, Philippines".

We are pleased to report that their analysis found no detected presence of Paragonimus westermani metacercaria among the edible crustaceans collected in the area. While this result does not signify the absolute absence of the parasite, it serves as a strong indicator of low endemicity within the barangay. The team remains dedicated to providing scientific data that supports the health and safety of our local communities through rigorous laboratory monitoring.

𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱: 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗫-𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝘆

The LGU Manay, through its Municipal Health Office, successfully conducted a municipal-wide Active Case Finding (ACF) Free Chest X-ray mission today. This vital health outreach was a collaborative effort with the Provincial Health Office (PHO) led by Dr. Reden V. Bersaldo, alongside the DOH DCHD, Alay Kapwa, and Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP).

By bringing mobile diagnostic technology directly to the people, the team screened almost hundreds of residents to identify "missing" TB cases and other respiratory concerns. This proactive screening ensures that those in need receive early diagnosis and immediate access to free medical treatment through the National TB Control Program.

The success of this activity highlights the power of partnership in bringing essential healthcare to every corner of Manay. We thank all our partners and the community for their overwhelming support in making our municipality a healthier place to live.
