Yesterday, June 19, 2025 at MHO Conference Room, together with the Punong Barangays of the seventeen barangays, DOH HRH and selected LGU department heads conducted the Provincial Strategic Planning for Achieving G2 Sanitation Certification.
An orientation workshop on the Philippines Approach to Sustainable Sanitation (PhATSS) G II is necessary to equip local government units (LGUs), BLGUs with the knowledge and tools to implement sustainable sanitation practices. This involves understanding the guidelines, assessing sanitation levels, and developing strategies for improvement, ultimately aiming to achieve universal access to safe sanitation by 2030.
This activity was initiated by the Provincial Health Office of the Provincial Government of Davao Oriental headed by Dr. Reden VB and spearheaded by the Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Azin John Libanan and Provincial Sanitation Inspector Ms Marichu Diampon.
Guests and participants were warmly welcomed by the OIC MHO Jenie B Lahora . In her message, she thanked all the Punong Barangays, HRH and BSI for doing their best in providing health care services to the community and also she conveyed her utmost appreciation to the Provincial Health Office and DOH DCHD for sharing their technical expertise and continued guidance. She hopes that everyone will continue to be actively engaged in order to achieve the ultimate goal to ensuring universal access to safe sanitation, contributing to improve public health, environmental protection, and overall well-being of the community.
Present also during this activity were the Provincial Health Officer of the Department of Health Region XI, Dr Grace C. T.b., DMO Roger Palec and our very active and dynamic Municipal Mayor Jon Marco Dayanghirang .
In line with the continued support of LGU Manay in its aim to provide a high quality and standard level of health care towards all Manayans, the Municipal Mayor Jon Marco Dayanghirang speaks of its full support towards achieving sustainable sanitation in the municipality of Manay.
Also, on behalf of the Punong Barangays present, Hon Elmario Masinadiong Longyapon of Barangay Holy Cross made a strong message of Commitment Support to achieving G2 Sanitation Certification. Towards the end, Municipal Sanitation Inspector maam Jo Tengson was so delightful for the commitment shown by the officials more particularly by our Municipal Mayor Jon Marco Dayanghirang and the Punong Barangays in achieving G2 sanitation. Their dedication to provide sanitary toilets and proper waste management will undoubtedly lead to a healthier community for all.
