🧠💛 Social-emotional milestones help us understand how children connect, express, and manage their emotions.
Knowing what to watch for can guide both parents and health professionals in supporting healthy development.
Let’s grow together—one milestone at a time.

Did you know that missing key developmental milestones could be an early sign of concern?
Stay tuned as we kick off our Developmental Milestones Series—starting with Motor Milestones!

As parents and caregivers, being aware of what your child should be able to do at each stage is crucial.

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the milestones we’ll be sharing are ones that 75% or more children are expected to achieve by a certain age. If your child has not yet reached one or more of these milestones, it’s a good idea to check in with your pediatrician.

Early evaluation can help ensure your child gets the support they need!

✅ Early identification = earlier intervention
✅ Earlier intervention = better outcomes!

We also encourage all parents to keep up with well-child checkups and formal developmental screenings—they’re not just routine, they’re essential.

📅 Recommended Developmental Screening Schedule:

✅ General Developmental Screening: at 9, 18, and 30 months
🧩 Autism-Specific Screening: at 18 and 24 months
🔍 Additional Screening: at any age if concerns come up during routine well-child visits—especially related to social or communication development

💡 Remember: Developmental screening is not a diagnosis. It simply helps identify areas where your child’s development may differ from typical patterns for their age.

If a concern is found, your pediatrician may refer you to a Developmental Pediatrician for a more in-depth evaluation and guidance.

Early action can lead to the best outcomes for your child’s growth and learning! ✨

Hello, new mommies and daddies! Is your baby crying all the time? It could be colic and that can be tough. It's absolutely okay to feel overwhelmed. Remember, it's alright to take a little breather and reach out to others for support. After feeding, burping, and changing, gently lay your little one safely in their crib for a moment. 🤗

Contact your pediatrician if you notice your baby is not gaining weight, seems to have a weak suck or is less active than usual, has a fever, has bloody or unusual p**p color, or is persistently vomiting or spitting up.

You don't have to do this alone. ❤️

Hey everyone! 👋 You might have heard more about MPOX recently, and it's important to stay informed. We've seen a few new cases in the Philippines, including a 3-year-old girl in Zamboanga Sibugay and 10 cases in South Cotabato.

The Department of Health (DOH) emphasizes that it spreads mainly through close skin-to-skin contact, not easily airborne like other viruses. DOH Spokesperson Albert Domingo also reminded the public, "...hindi lahat ng butlig ay mpox..." so awareness of the specific symptoms can be useful.

With that, we've put together a simple comparison table to show how MPOX is different from other more common rash and fever illnesses you might already know about.

BIG REMINDER: Please, please, please don't self-diagnose! 🙏 Rash and fever can be tricky, and there are many causes. The best thing to do is call your pediatrician right away! They'll tell you what to do and what to expect. A check up in the ER isolation room might be needed.

A super important note: Always keep anyone with a rash and fever away from other babies, pregnant moms, the elderly, and those undergoing cancer treatment because they can easily get infected.

Stay safe and healthy, everyone! ❤️

When a button battery is swallowed, especially one larger than 12mm, it can get stuck in the throat. The moisture in the body triggers an electrical current, which can cause a chemical reaction that rapidly burns through tissue. It's worst if it goes into the airways (trachea)!

Internal chemical burns can harm the throat, airway, and blood vessels. It can even burn a hole right through the throat, causing dangerous infections and bleeding. Even if removed, it can lead to a narrowed throat, voice issues, and trouble eating. Swallowing a button battery can even be fatal.

WHAT TO DO When you suspect a button buttery has been swallowed,
1. Do not try to make your child vomit or give them anything to eat or drink.
2. Go to the nearest emergency room ASAP
3. Tell the medical staff you suspect a button battery ingestion.

Spread the word! Awareness can save a life.
