My name is Candee Teng, and my journey to mental wellness has been a turbulent yet transformative one. Clinically diagnosed with multiple mental illnesses—including Bipolar Disorder, DID, an Eating Disorder, PTSD, and Clinical Depression—I was in a dark place. Suicidal thoughts plagued me, and I saw no hope for my life. In 2017, I hit rock bottom, with my relationships and family life crumbling ar
ound me. As a single mother, I felt like a failure, a hopeless case. My mental illnesses defined me, leaving me uncertain of what I wanted or who I was. In November 2017, everything changed when I encountered life coaching through D' Cup Coffee Republic. I became a certified life coach in February 2018 with Life Coach Philippines, and began partnering with Master Coach A. Through various mental health programs and serving others suffering from similar mental challenges, I realized that my mental illness is not my identity. I learned that even with mental challenges, there is hope, and I could live a beautiful life filled with significance. It was simply a matter of choice. I choose to continually invest in my mental fitness, embracing the healing process no matter how painful, knowing that it’s through facing my pain that my wounds can mend, allowing me to grow. In choosing to embrace my brokenness, I encountered God’s healing power and grace. In 2023, I reached a significant milestone, leaving my psychiatrist's office with a history mark, signaling healing from my mental illnesses. Now, my journey continues toward advocating for mental fitness, being a voice for fellow sufferers, urging them to rise up, and knowing that healing is possible. Today, I am a full-time Professional Certified CACC Life and Mental Health Coach from Life Coach Philippines. I am a Neurodivergent Life and Mental Health Coach who helps clients transform overwhelm to clarity, heal from emotional pain, and manage their mental conditions through creative expression. I invite you to join me on this journey toward mental fitness and fulfillment. Together, we can make progress, healing and growing to live meaningful, significant lives. Let's work together to support and uplift each other, creating a positive impact for ourselves and many others along the way. The journey to mental wellness and meaningful living is one we can embark on together, and I look forward to sharing this path with you. Checkout my website: https://www.tranquilmental.com/
My Tuesday ritual: Review how I used my time, Refine this week’s Mental Health Library approach, and Recommit to the week’s goal. Being a Life and Mental Health Coach means mid-week check-ins prevent end-week regrets.
“Q1 taught me what doesn’t work. Q2 is where I cut it.”
I’m dropping: doom scrolling, putting off tasks, and strategies that look good but produce nothing. The lesson: subtraction creates space for healing to come in. Being a Life and Mental Health Coach taught me: saying no to wrong things makes room for right ones.
What are you dropping this quarter? Get specific below.
“People ask why I keep doing this work when it gets hard. The answer is simple: I’ve been where my clients are.”
I know what it’s like to feel hopeless and to keep searching for reason why things are happening in life, to keep trying to fit in but see no progress, and to find a space I can belong and be my authentic self but not know where to find it. Every Q2 brings new people who are exactly where I was. As a Life and Mental Health Coach, helping them move forward faster than I did—that’s the mission.
What drives you into this new quarter? Share your why below.
Ex*****on revealed what needed refining. In my professional space, improvement now comes from adjustment—not reinvention.
I noticed that habit worked—but not cleanly. Small refinements create disproportionate gains.
Reflect precisely:
• What needed refining was __________.
• One small change I made was __________.
• That improved __________ (speed, clarity, results).
At this stage, momentum isn’t about doing more—it’s about raising standards. In my line of work, the difference between progress and plateau is often what I’m willing to refine instead of tolerate.
I’m choosing to raise the standard on communication because what I allow shapes what I build.
Complete this honestly:
• The standard I’m raising is __________.
• This matters in my work because __________ (trust, credibility, sustainability).

Feel stuck in your life, unfulfilled or lacking in direction? You might benefit from a life coach. “Life coaches are trained to help you heighten your self-awareness, validate your strengths, boost your confidence and guide you to visualize a positive future,” says stress reliance specialist and life coach Heidi M. Weiker, MSSA. The service strikes a chord among people who want to derive more meaning from their lives. “It’s the contemporary thing to do – hire a coach – and it’s different from therapy,” says Weiker. The biggest difference: “Coaching focuses on giving you hands-on methods and evidence-based tools for creating positive changes,” she says. Here are three ways that life coaching can boost your mental health and well-being:
Identifying your strengths. You can make better choices if you know how to capitalize on your strengths and minimize your weaknesses. “Data show that 70 percent of us can’t identify our own strengths,” says Weiker. “Our goal is to give you a solid understanding of what makes you strong, unique and talented and how to use those gifts to get where you want to go.”
Providing you practical information and tools. It’s helpful to reflect on the factors and forces that got you where you are. But a good life coach will also help you prepare a blueprint for taking action in the future. “We give you guidance on putting to use everything you’ve learned,” Weiker says. “People will often tell me that they walk away from coaching with an idea of moving forward and how to utilize resources to make a change in their lives.”
Connecting your passion to your purpose. What do you feel you were put on this earth to do? A life coach will help you figure it out. “Sometimes your purpose doesn’t match you career,” says Weiker. “But we work on how you can put your multiple purposes into practice.”
Life coaching can be tailored to your needs. You might benefit from just a handful of sessions or need one every week for a few months. Usually there is “homework” – behavioral steps and practices you perform between visits that help reinforce your intentions and help you reach your goals. “We can help you live a life you design, rather than reacting to life as it’s moving along,” says Weiker.
