Stress is an unavoidable part of life, but did you know that how you handle it can change your entire experience? Generally, our coping strategies fall into two categories: Problem-Focused and Emotion-Focused.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐›๐ฅ๐ž๐ฆ-๐…๐จ๐œ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž๐ ๐‚๐จ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐  This is all about taking the bull by the horns! When you have a stressor you can control (like a looming deadline or a messy room), you focus on changing the situation. Examples: Time management, seeking information, or creating a step-by-step action plan.

๐ŸŒˆ ๐„๐ฆ๐จ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง-๐…๐จ๐œ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž๐ ๐‚๐จ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐  Sometimes, we can't change the situation right away (like a loss or a global event). In these cases, we focus on managing our internal emotional response. Examples: Mindfulness, journaling, physical exercise, or talking to a friend.
