Help Micah Claire in Her Fight Against Lupus Nephritis
Dear Friends and Supporters,
Our beloved daughter, Micah Claire Macasadia, is facing an immense challenge at just 12 years old: lupus nephritis, a severe form of Lupus that has brought physical, emotional, and financial burdens to our family.
Diagnosed in April 2024, Micah's immune system has been attacking her own body, leading to significant inflammation, and her kidneys have been particularly affected. By July, she developed Nephrotic Syndrome, causing her to lose essential proteins and experience painful swelling and other complications.
This aggressive autoimmune disease has made her more susceptible to infections; in early September, she was diagnosed with pneumonia, and later with tuberculosis (TB) on September 28, 2024. Micah’s vision has also been affected, requiring corrective lenses with a 750 grade in both eyes.
Managing lupus nephritis is a complex and costly journey. It requires frequent medical visits, specialized treatments, and continuous medication—all of which place a substantial financial strain on our family. But despite these challenges, Micah has shown incredible resilience and strength, inspiring us all with her determination to live fully.
We have been moved by the kindness and support from friends, family, and our community. Each gesture—whether a comforting word, a shared story, or a donation—has brought hope and comfort.
