On December 1, 2025, VRP Medical Center and the Bureau of Fire Protection signed a Memorandum of Agreement, establishing a commitment in promoting public health through mobile blood donation drives and VRP's obligation to supporting BFP's mandate by caring for its personnel, their dependents, and retired personnel.

In celebration of National Children’s Month, the Department of Pediatrics, with the theme “VRPMC Heroes Assemble,” brought joy to children undergoing treatment through a special room-to-room visitation by Cherifer’s Cheriboy followed by a fun costume contest for both patients and staff.

As part of the celebration, the Child Protection Unit (CPU) was formally launched, officially adding VRP to the network of institutions accredited to accept and manage cases related to child abuse and violence. The newly established CPU is dedicated to providing comprehensive medical and psychosocial care in a welcoming, safe, and child-friendly environment.

The unit will be led by Dr. Marie Grace Delizo and Registered Social Worker Novie S. Borlagdan, who will spearhead its mission to offer sustained and compassionate support to children in need.
