Lunasin can boost immune system

The first line of defense against viral infection is the body’s innate immune system and its ability to mobilize natural killer cells (NK cells - a type of white blood cell) to eliminate virus-infected cells.

NK cells provide a rapid response to virus-infected cells (acting at around 3 days after infection) by producing interferon gamma (IFN-gamma), a regulatory cytokine that is critical for innate immunity, as well as adaptive immunity when mobilized by viral vaccines to produce antibodies against the virus.

Previous research on the effects of the lunasin peptide on cytokine immunotherapy against lymphoma (see attached publication) demonstrates the ability of lunasin to strengthen the body’s innate immunity by enhancing production of IFN-gamma in NK cells. The study also shows that the increase in IFN-gamma by lunasin is modulated by levels of histone H3 acetylation on the promoters of the IFN-gamma gene and other immune-regulatory genes.

Our youngest Raphael, just turned 2 when he was diagnosed with asthma. Right after the diagnosis, he was given two types of maintenance medicines (a 2-in-1 inhaler and a candy flavoured tablet that relieves allergy symptoms and prevent asthma attacks) He’s supposed to use the inhaler twice a day and take the tablet before going to sleep at night. We followed his doctor’s orders religiously. Though he did not have a full-blown asthma attack while on his meds, he would still have cough and cold regularly. We felt that his medicines were not doing enough and at the same time we worried about their side effects on our young boy’s body. So we decided to look for an alternative and that’s when we found Reliv Now for Kids and Lunarich X. We’re fortunate because Raphael did not have any problem with the taste of Reliv.
