Statuesque, elegant, intelligent and well-spoken, Bianca has all it takes to win the crown. Admittedly, the competition is getting fiercer every year. A champion of quality and accessible education, as well as a veritable artist herself, Bianca is already a winner to us, with or without the crown. Belated thanks to friends and guests who graced Lynne's 60th birthday celebration. As a Boholano, I was overwhelmed to hear your kind words uttered spontaneously, courtesy of Ma'am Fiel Angeli Araoarao Gabin, city information officer, whose dynamic emceeing did not allow anyone called to beg off or come with a script. When Lynne decided to live and do business in Bohol after our long stay overseas, I was a bit anxious about how a Pangasinense with a strong personality and a commanding voice would blend with the relatively mild-mannered Boholanos. My work being based outside of Bohol, I see many of you only occasionally and some perhaps for the first time that night. I was thus caught by surprise to meet Bohol's finest people (these are not honeyed words, promise)--well established in their career or community but very warm and humble. Lynne always tells me, "I don't need many friends. I only need a few true good friends." Now I know what she means. Now I know why Lynne thrives and loves it here in Bohol. You who hung in there beyond your first impression of her, who saw through the heart behind the frank, sometimes barefaced words, thank you for surrounding her with your warm friendship. God bless you all! 🥰😍❤️

Being the youngest, daughter Sarah was a sweet, clingy Papa's girl who would unabashedly wrap me in her arms even in public. Despite those soft traits, she was strong-willed and feisty like her mom, knew what she wanted, presented her plans confidently brooking no refusal. I was at first hesitant when she told me she wanted to pursue her dream of being a fashion designer, this being an unknown territory to me. I started to soften my resistance when she won the grand prize in a city-wide fashion design competition and got rave reviews from Cebu's fiercely competitive industry. I then offered to provide her the capital she needed to start her business and challenged her to pay it back or I wouldn't be convinced this was a viable career for her. She surprised me when she paid it back in full within a few months so that she could borrow again to upgrade her equipment. This actually happened in 2021 in the midst of the pandemic. In no time, she officially set up her own company and launched her own website and page. Today, the third Monday of January, otherwise known as 𝘽𝙡𝙪𝙚 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙮, is supposed to be the most depressing day of the year. I'm not sure if this is based on a survey or any other scientific study, but if you've set out to work today and the pall of "poor weather, the post-Christmas lull, stretched finances and unattainable New Year's resolutions" hang over you, you'd perhaps say perhaps there's a grain of truth to this. Don't know about you but today, I'm starting my day happy, taking this assurance from Isaiah 58:11 "The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail." 𝘼 𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙖𝙡𝙡!
