The CDU Program DAN-AG team, led by Program Leader Dr. Brian Denney, held a strategic planning session today, July 14, 2025, at Bluewater Maribago Cebu in preparation for the upcoming SIBYA Stakeholdersโ€™ Research Forum this August.

SIBYA: Sharing Insights for a Better Health PolicY Action is our official dissemination conference designed to share the programโ€™s key findings with our valued stakeholders: local government representatives, partner communities, and fellow researchers. The forum will also feature selected pitch-to-policy presenters from the University.

Through SIBYA, we continue our commitment to transforming research into meaningful impact by fostering dialogue, informing policy, and strengthening partnerships for improved community health outcomes.

Module 6 of the JBI Training Series brought a record turnout and practical insight as CDU researchers gathered to explore the development and writing of a research protocol. With more than 60 in-person attendees, the session was facilitated by Dr. Valentin Dones III, Mr. Marfy Lita, and Asst. Prof. Lyle Patrick Tangcuangco, guiding participants through critical components of systematic and scoping reviews.

Topics covered included an overview of DOST-NRCP and PCHRD programs and research agenda, understanding systematic review types and formulating review questions, using JBI SUMARI, Elicit, and NotebookLM for research support, reviewing sampling designs, and identifying the right journal for publication.

Launched on June 30, 2025, the series is hosted by the in collaboration with DOST-NRCP, running until July 11, 2025 in a hybrid setup (on-site and via Zoom). Each session continues to strengthen the capacity of CDU researchers to lead in evidence-based health research.

Now on its fourth day, the CDU JBI Training Series on Systematic and Scoping Reviews in Health Research continues to engage participating researchers in rigorous and meaningful learning. Modules 2-3, facilitated by Dr. Valentin Dones III (RDLeader), Mr. Marfy Lita, and Dr. Ivan Neil Gomez, focused on essential topics in basic systematic review methodology and the use of quantitative evidence.

Launched on June 30, 2025, the training series is hosted by the in collaboration with the DOST-NRCP. The sessions are being held at the CDU Performing Arts Laboratory and online via Zoom, and will run until July 11, 2025.

The CDU JBI Training Series on Systematic and Scoping Reviews in Health Research, hosted by the in collaboration with DOST-NRCP, was successfully launched on June 30, 2025, commencing with Module 1: Research Question Development Clinic. The series runs from June 30 to July 11, 2025, at the CDU Performing Arts Laboratory, Mandaue City, Cebu.

Facilitated by Dr. Valentin Dones III (RDLeader), Mr. Marfy Lita, and Dr. Ivan Neil Gomez, Module 1 covered key topics including an introduction to JBI and research evidence, an overview of systematic review types and questions, development of eligibility criteria, and a guided literature search planning.

Cebu Doctorsโ€™ University, through the , will host the JBI Training Series on Systematic and Scoping Reviews for Health Research from June 30 (Monday) to July 11, 2025 (Friday) at the CDU Performing Arts Laboratory, Mandaue City, Cebu.

Guided by Prof. Valentin C. Dones III, PhD, of the University of Santo Tomas and CDUโ€™s designated RDLeader, the program aims to strengthen the competencies of faculty, researchers, and health professionals in evidence synthesis, critical appraisal, and meta-analytic methods. This specialized training is supported by the Research and Development Leadership (RDLead) Program of the Department of Science and Technology โ€“ National Research Council of the Philippines (DOST-NRCP).

The hosted key representatives from DOST-PCHRD for an official site visit and equipment tagging and inventory activity held at Cebu Doctorsโ€™ University on May 23, 2025 (Friday). This visit follows the recent granting of a project extension for the Hub. We were honored to welcome the following PCHRD representatives:

In full support, our University administration, along with the Business Office and Accounting staff, joined the Hub team in engaging discussions and coordination with our visiting partners. The activity focused on the proper cataloging, tagging, and oversight of essential equipment that supports our ongoing R&D initiatives. Agenda highlights include the introduction of the CDU administration, Hub team, and PCHRD representatives, presentation of project accomplishments and future plans, and equipment tagging and inventory.

We extend our gratitude to PCHRD, Dr. Montoya, Ms. Pimentel, Mr. Tumlos, Ms. Ramirez, Ms. Celo, Ms. Pedir, and Mr. Mercado for their continued support and partnership in advancing impactful health research and innovation ๐Ÿฉต
