| UNIVERSITY WEEK POSTPONEMENT

With deep care and compassion for the Cebu Doctors’ University community, the Administration has made the thoughtful decision to postpone the University Week celebration to the Second Semester of Academic Year 2025 - 2026. This decision, reached after careful discernment, reflects the University’s continuing commitment to the safety, well-being, and holistic development of all its members.

🔹 On the Importance of Safety
The continued occurrence and uncertainty of aftershocks present risks in holding a large event that would gather hundreds of students, employees, and guests within the University. Ensuring that every member of our community remains safe and protected remains our utmost priority.

🔹 On Academic Recovery
The recent class suspensions and disruptions have required major adjustments in instruction and scheduling. The University believes that it is most prudent to dedicate this time to academic recovery — allowing students, faculty, and departments to regain momentum and ensure that learning outcomes are fully achieved before engaging in celebrations.

🔹️ On Empathy and Solidarity
In light of the recent disaster that has affected many families across our region, including members of the CDU community who have lost loved ones or livelihoods, the University recognizes that this is a time for compassion and support rather than festivity. Choosing to forego celebration at this moment is a gesture of respect and shared humanity — a reflection of our oneness as a community that cares deeply for one another.

Cebu Doctors’ University sincerely asks for everyone’s understanding and patience. Please be assured that this decision has been made with the best interest of all stakeholders in mind. | RESUMPTION OF IN-PERSON SET-UP

Following the lifting of the Mandaue City Government’s directive on face-to-face class suspension, Cebu Doctors’ University will resume face-to-face classes beginning Monday, October 27, 2025.

Midterm Examinations for Professional Courses will proceed in-campus from October 27 to 30 and November 3 to 4, 2025.

Meanwhile, General Education courses will conduct their examinations online during the same period.

University offices, the Instructional Media Center (IMC), and the Medical Library will also return to their regular operating hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (with noon break) for offices, and 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (without noon break) for the IMC and Medical Library.

The University extends its appreciation to all students, faculty, and staff for their patience and cooperation during the recent disruptions. Cebu Doctors’ University remains steadfast in upholding compassion, flexibility, and academic excellence in all circumstances.

| REGULAR OPERATIONS RESUME

Cebu Doctors’ University will resume regular office operations tomorrow, October 14, 2025 (Tuesday), starting at 8:00 AM to serve all stakeholders.

Students may also visit the Learning Resource Center (LRC) and Medical Library from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Weekdays) and 8:00 AM to 12:00 NN (Saturday) this week to support their online and asynchronous learning.

Moreover, beginning next week, during Midterm Examinations, both the LRC and Medical Library will revert to their regular schedule of 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (Weekdays) and 8:00 AM to 12:00 NN (Saturday), while office hours will remain 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The University sincerely appreciates everyone’s cooperation and patience as we continue to uphold a safe, responsive, and student-centered environment.

| ACADEMIC ADJUSTMENTS

Cebu Doctors’ University reaffirms its commitment to prioritize student welfare and learning continuity, in light of the recent disasters and their impact on our community. After a Special Student Forum held today, October 11, 2025, the University announces the following adjustments to the academic calendar:

🔹 October 13 to October 18 - Online or asynchronous classes
🔹 October 20 to October 25 - Midterm examinations
• Face-to-face for Professional Programs
• Online for General Education and Senior High School Programs
🔹 October 27 to November 8 - Regular face-to-face classes and duties
🔹 November 10 to November 15 - University Week
🔹 November 17 to December 6 - Regular face-to-face classes and duties
🔹 December 9 to December 13 - Finals Week

Note: Classes resume accordingly except on declared non-working holidays.

Moreover, please be reminded that despite the online/async set-up mentioned, clinical duties in hospitals and affiliation centers outside the CDU campus shall continue as permitted by the competent authority in the locality.

Additionally, the University will still be open to all stakeholders for any office transactions, starting on Monday, October 13, 2025.

These measures reflect the University’s compassionate and flexible response to students who may still be returning to the city, experiencing connectivity issues, or temporarily staying in evacuation sites. Academic leniency and special activities will be provided as needed, with excused absences and open communication encouraged between students and faculty.

The University also discussed matters on dormitory concerns, with continuous coordination among the Administration, the Supreme Student Council (SSC), and the Council of Student Body Organizations (CSBO) to support affected students.

The forum was attended by the Vice Presidents for Administration and Academic Affairs, College Deans, Department Chairs, the Senior High School Principal, the Student Affairs Office, the SSC, and representatives from all college student councils.

| UNIVERSITY OPEN

After close coordination with the proper authorities and a thorough assessment of campus facilities, with expert consultation on structural engineering, Cebu Doctors’ University has been cleared to open and will officially resume services and classes on Monday, October 6, 2025.

🔹️ Academic Updates:
With utmost consideration for student welfare and well-being, face-to-face classes across all levels will officially resume on Monday, October 6, 2025. This follows a comprehensive review to ensure that the campus is safe, prepared, and conducive for learning. Faculty members are likewise committed to guiding and supporting students for a smooth transition back to in-person classes.

🔹️ Psychosocial Services:
CDU also recognizes the importance of its constituents' mental health and emotional well-being. Psychosocial support services are available to all students and other members of the CDU community. For assistance, you may reach out to the Guidance Services Office located at the 2nd Floor, South Atrium, or contact cdu-gso@cdu.edu.ph / (032) 238-8333 local 8211.

🔹️ Work Suspension:
To provide time for continued safety checks, as well as for the welfare and well-being of our community, there will be no work on Saturday, October 4, 2025. This is to allow everyone the needed space to prepare and recover before returning to regular operations.

🔹️ Donation Drive:
Repacking activities for the CDU Donation Drive, in coordination with the CDU - Council of Student Body Organizations, will continue only until today, Friday, October 3, 2025, pursuant to the aforementioned suspension of campus operations on Saturday. Relief packs will then be prepared for delivery to affected areas in Northern Cebu.

| SCHEDULE ADJUSTMENTS

In consideration of our students’ welfare and in support of ongoing recovery measures, Cebu Doctors’ University has made adjustments to the academic calendar.

🔹️ Midterm Examinations will be rescheduled from October 6 - 11, 2025 to October 13 - 18, 2025.
🔹️ University Week will move from October 20 - 25, 2025 to October 27 - 31, 2025.

These adjustments are intended to allow make-up classes and to provide ample time for preparation while ensuring that academic activities take place in a safe and supportive environment.

The University thanks the CDU community for its usual cooperation and understanding.

| SUSPENSION NOTICE

Following the magnitude 6.7 earthquake reported by PHIVOLCS on the evening of September 30, 2025, and as announced by the Mandaue City LGU, Cebu Doctors’ University will be implementing precautionary measures to ensure the safety of our community.

🔹 For Students:
- Classes on October 1, 2025 will shift to an alternative mode of delivery.
- Online classes may be implemented where and when applicable.
- Students experiencing internet connectivity concerns will be given utmost consideration.

🔹 For Employees:
- Work will be suspended in the morning of October 1, 2025 to allow for thorough inspection of the campus facilities.
- Only the following personnel are required to report in the morning:
1. Engineering and Physical Plant Office
2. General Services Office
3. Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART)
4. Security Personnel
5. Housekeeping Personnel
- After the inspection, the Administration will announce if work may resume earlier than scheduled. Otherwise, regular office operations will continue in the afternoon.

The University prioritizes the safety and well-being of all members of the CDU community. Updates will be issued through official communication channels.
