'THE RESURRECTION IS NOT JUST A MOMENT TO CELEBRATE, IT IS A CALL TO ACTION'

READ: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. marked Easter Sunday with a powerful message of hope and action, urging Filipinos to rise beyond prayer and belief, and live out the true meaning of the Resurrection through compassion, justice, and inclusive governance.

In his official Easter statement, the president emphasized that “The triumph of Easter is a call to action”—a reminder that while Christ conquered death, the faithful must also strive to conquer poverty, hunger, and silence through concrete deeds.

“It is not enough to say He is risen while leaving others buried—in debt, in hunger, and in silence,” Marcos said, calling on the public and leaders alike to take part in building a “Bagong Pilipinas” that uplifts every Filipino.

As the nation celebrates Easter, the president reminds us that “the stone has been rolled away,” and it is now up to each of us to move forward, not just in faith—but in meaningful, transformative action.

LOOK: The Philippine Coast Guard ( ) continues search and recovery operations off Occidental Mindoro after MV Hong Hai 16 capsized.

No oil spill was detected; divers recovered items from the vessel's bridge and second-floor cabin earlier today, as the search for missing crew members continues.

In observance of Black Saturday, the Coast Guard Chaplain Service held a special Mass for the affected families and the safety of all responders.
