Hi everyone!

I can barely believe we are already on the third week of January 2022. While I did not mean to go on a social media break, I did take a study break last December. Our family also traveled for the first time in two years to visit our loved ones in Manila and Cebu, and we just arrived back last week. It feels like I am just slowly waking up to the new year. But happy new year nonetheless, dear readers! 🥂
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today is also the first full moon of the calendar year. A time of completion, of closures and endings but also the peak of clarity, the fullness of illumination. I would like to take this time to extend gratitude to all my students who have welcomed me on their screens, their hearts, and their transformational journeys this past year. Thank you! 💖

It is also a wonderful time to celebrate growth. I first encountered yoga back in 2003 and started teaching in 2015. Although my teaching path has changed significantly in recent years, becoming a childbirth educator as well as a prenatal and postnatal yoga teacher. One thing remains constant. Teaching has always been and will always be a process of self-discovery for me.

I took a Birth Story Listening/Birth Story Medicine course in December, originally planning to proceed with it slowly and only taking part 1. But the impact (on my own experience) so profound and the work so important that I decided to take part 2 immediately. And as I dive deep into another training path this year, I am excited to share it with you.

I am looking forward to start practicing with our mamas-to-be again. Modern women have much more choice regarding when, or if, they want to conceive children. Still, conception remains to be a mysterious and unpredictable time that has much to do and significant effect on our personal well-being and mental outlook.

Pregnancy is one of the most profound experiences in a woman’s life. In this one-of-a-kind Prenatal Yoga Series, we want to invite pregnant mothers to make body-, mind-, and soul-care integral parts of their motherhood journey.

Prenatal Yoga Series Weekly Inclusions:
▫ 1 60-minute prenatal yoga class for the BODY
▫ 1 20-minute breath work & relaxation class
▫ Weekly birth affirmations for the MIND
▫ Weekly positive habits for the HEART
▫ 1 20-minute meditation class for the SPIRIT
▫ CONNECTION with other mothers

During this time of pandemic, we recognize that pregnant mamas may be undergoing additional stress from movement restrictions, ever-changing protocols around birth preparations, and limited face-to-face interactions. We want to hold this safe space, a mother’s circle, for our mothers-to-be to connect and celebrate every moment of motherhood.

This series is facilitated by Jeannie Young. Jeannie is a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator and has studied directly with the founders of Mindful Birth Australia. She is also a certified hatha and vinyasa yoga teacher, including prenatal and postnatal yoga. She brings together her knowledge on childbirth education, movement and somatics, yoga, women’s wellness and mindfulness into her classes. With a strong belief that birth preparation is a holistic journey/process.
